Guerilla must be feeling real good right now. People always spoke about them with such apathy since Killzone 2. Now their new IP is one of the highest nominated games of E3. Big congrats to that studio.

Should also be noted, psyched as I am for Guerilla, last year's Game of Show winner was Evolve, so...yeah.

Wait a minute, was Horizon: Zero Dawn playable to critics?

The bare minimum is can they touch the joystick after they are presented a demo and the character/camera move. Jeff from Giantbomb went over the requirements on an episode of the bombcast.

Fallout 4 will be this years Evolve and Titanfall.

They had candidates like Witcher 3, Arkham and Bloodborne but they went with the above. /Idonteven

Time will tell if the game's got the chops, but Guerrilla hiring the writer of Fallout: New Vegas and a quest designer from the Witcher 3 fills me with a toooooon of hope. Add that with a new and unusual theme paired with some cool and interesting looking mechanics, and I think you have the recipe for something that deserves watching, which is what I think the purpose of the E3 awards are.

It was, by far, one of the more refreshing things I saw at the show.

The perspective of past winners underdelivering implicating future winners is kinda misguided, imo.

If Fallout 4 is Game of Show, does that mean there's reason to be concerned about Fallout 4 because last year's winner is Evolve?

GotS isn't a curse. It is important however, the context of the showcase of the game the awards were given to. Horizon's showcase was extremely limited, there was no towns, no other NPCs, only that slice. Other games might have more/less depending on their own showcases.

Nah

Battlefront gives me those vibes though. Fun multiplayer shooter that demos well compared to RPGs and what not wins a truck load of E3 awards but in the end is just a fun multiplayer shooter.

Doubt it. Evolve was an unknown quantity at the time. We know what we're getting with the next Fallout game.

terrible comparison

evolve: online only title with little content + overpriced dlc

horizon: sp ip which will be filled to the brim with content + knowing GG history of handling dlc, the content will be worth the price

I can see Touch taking GotS. The impressions were very very good.

It has been explained multiple times MP games demo well at events like this.

Why would Witcher 3, Arkham, or Bloodborne win E3 awards??

He means previous years.

edit: oh I see Witcher 3 wasn't eligible, but AK was nominated for GotS, while Boodborne was for RPG
