Protagonist

A young man who lives in the calm village of Ishi. He was brought up soundly by the people of the warm village. The curtain opens on his adventure on the day he turns 16.

Kamiu

A reliable partner. He is a blue-haired thief that the protagonist encounters on his journey. Although there is a rude side to his behavior and speech, he possesses a strong sense of duty and a warm heart. As a partner used to the ways of the world, he supports and guides the novice protagonist. Kamiu's quote: "I believe in it—the miracle of the hero."

World map

The world in Dragon Quest XI is called "Lotozetasia," (Loto being a super important character in Dragon Quest) which has a World Tree at its center. According to director Uchikawa, "It is a vast map comparable to previous Dragon Quest titles. It won't betray your expectations."

Some other details

the casino will return, where you’ll be able to play slots, poker, and mini-games that differ based on the hardware. The 3DS version is compatible with StreetPass, while charming elements are also being prepared for the PlayStation 4 version.

It looks pretty uncanny valley for me. I much prefer the look of Dragon Quest Heroes. It's a pretty subtle difference, but when it comes to uncanny valley subtle differences really matter.

Still no battle gameplay.

Blue haired guy, jester/dancer dude, blond woman (not the red riding hood looking loli), and other woman all look awesome. MC is okay at best, don't like little girls in my party, and the old man looks aight but he looks to be a monk character so I may use him.

Yeah, they clearly said it was the OP, not a trailer... though you could say it ended up used as a trailer, ha ha.

About the Switch, it's pretty easy to guess which version it's getting.

3DS too different from Switch (power/archiecture wise + dual-screen) for this version to be the one being ported.
