The Japanese "My Nintendo Store" opened on the 23th and was immediately down for most of the day due to many users trying to pre-order custom Switch-consoles.

The My Nintendo store-only "Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia VALENTIA COMPLETE" will instead of being first-come-first-serve have a special pre-order timeframe during which everyone who orders will be guaranteed to get one.

Pre-orders were originally scheduled to start on the 27th, but will be postponed for now.

Artificially reduce my stock if old.

Nope, Japan only. Also needs to set your Nintendo Account to Japan.

depends. they did sell the Zelda statue (and postcard) separately which is the one exclusive to the store & that will be only shipped during May. so, while they can just increase the amount of product, it doesn't mean it can be available on the exact launch date. so no this isn't the gaf favourite artificial shortage

you can customize what joycon (and straps) colour that you like when you preorder it from there. for example, both sides are blue

Their estimations have been proven to be unreliable countless times. They themselves have admitted as much, countless times. Why couldnt they have done this preorder method all along and get a real number? It's ridiculous for them have only come to this conclusion now.

All of a sudden it's a problem worth addressing when their website is down most of the day but it's not a problem worth addressing when fans complain to them when stock is snatched up by scalpers in minutes. Now that they've done this what will be the excuse for them to go back to business as usual?

It should mean what it means with every other publisher. Plenty available for the first run, none after that.
