For now, confirmed only for Japan with Nippon Ichi Software publishing (in case you're wondering, NIS was behind the Japanese release on PS4 as well). Coming this Fall on Japanese's eShop.

Still, it shouldn't take long to see it confirmed for the West as well

Looks like they listened to my twitter demands, you have me to thank guys :p

Really wanted this game on Switch, even wrote a blog post about it.

Was really disapppointed in the game, I dunno what it was but I found it to be very unpleasant to play, it felt so rough and tedious to me. I was actually really looking forward to it too, it's exactly the type of game I normally like.

The what?

Fantastic game, it's a murder mystery stealth game where the cases get ever more complicated - oh and there's time travel involved.

It's a bit short and some cases could be a little more logical, but the atmosphere and set up is quite excellent. First you have to find the victim, then you have to track the murderer and then you have to sabotage/stop the murder from happening.
I bit on the last steam sale and played it with a friend on the couch. I'm not all the way through, but we plan on continuing our session.

The premise seems interesting enough, is it like a point and click or free roam in the mansion?

It's a bit of both.

Not so much free roam as you'll be blocked off by certain puzzle mechanics but you're free to wander about and discover side stories and whatnot a couple chapters in. The game is broken into chapters where you have to solve a murder and then work to stop it Groundhog Day style by interfering with the killer or victim in a variety of ways. So you can go follow the victim around and see what he was doing earlier in the day, or maybe go explore and find some other characters not involved in the murder and see what they are up to, which tends to flesh out some of the larger points of the story and character motivations.

The Last Express is probably the most similar game. Sexy Brutale is excellent.

Yuuuuus! So glad I didn't get to buy it yet, this seems like a great mobile game. And also a great game in general :D

That sounds wonderful, wow.

...That said, if not for the word "Switch" in the title, I would never in my life have clicked a thread about a game called The Sexy Brutale", especially if I knew it was Nippon Ichi Software. The expectations that combination sets up are not appealing. I'd imagine the title is going to be a heck of a bullet to the game's sales potential.

I heartily recommend this game, with the caveat that it probably won't rock your world.

Great aesthetic and soundtrack, nice story, doesn't overstay its welcome. If there's a flaw to point out, it's that the Sexy Brutale fails to reach its potential when it comes to game mechanics. It doesn't quite dive deep enough to be a really satisfying experience. It stays merely good enough.

Oh sweet, I was going to get this for PS4 but never got around to it. Seems perfect for handheld though.

It's not a Japanese game. Nippon Ichi is only the Japanese publisher of Sexy Brutale, not the developer. It's developed by Tequilla (Spanish, known for RiME) and Cavalier Game Studios (UK-based).

This is a completely Western developed game (Cavelier Game Studios, their first game) it is only being published in Japan by NIS (and apparently not confirmed for the Switch in the West either at the moment).

Oh, this is tempting. I've heard such good things about the mood/story structure of this game, it seems like one of the few games to really channel immersive theatre a la Punchdrunk, so I know I'll have to support it eventually.

To me this is one of the best games of 2017 easily. Possibly of the gen.

It's an incredibly well-designed puzzle game. You basically live out the same 12 hours (12 real-time minutes) in a casino mansion over and over. Trying to a) Find out how certain guests are dying, and b) Working how to prevent their deaths (through intuition, puzzle solving, collecting intel, etc...).

The music, sound design, and world building in the story, and the way the little pieces of the story unfold and come together the further you get in the game, make for a really good experience.

This is the Majora's Mask + Dead Rising 1 of puzzle games.

My mind was blown once I finished this game. And it was so satisfying to basically solve every murder mystery (and prevent every murder mystery!) in this game.

Got the platinum trophy for this recently, easily one of the best games I have played this year so anyone interested should give it a go.

I totally missed this game when it came out! It actually looks pretty interesting to me. I like mystery novels and films, but I don't think I ever played a game like this. I'm eager to try it out. Depending on how long it'll take them to release it on Switch, I'll choose between that and PS4.

Nice to have it on switch. I bought this on Steam because it got some nice reviews but i was totally disappointed tbh. The plot (90 % of it revealed in the last 10 % of the game) seemed paper thin to me. And the design of the puzzles were real bad, i accidently solved 2 of them without even knowing what is going on really. The idea is real nice tho and also how some of the murder scenes unfolded, the atmosphere of the game is definitly done right. Hope there is gonna be a sequel that can build on it

Like someone else, i only clicked to see what it was because it was coming to the Switch... and judging by the screenshots alone, i might have dismissed this out of hand. But everybody who played it seems to be raving about it, so i'll check this out (if i don't forget about it by the time it hits the EU e-shop).

Sounds cool.

Yeah it really wasn't that good. I played it and beat it, but it's just a game of trial and error and being in the right place at the right time... which you figure out by.... trial and error.

I have no idea why the game got such glowing reviews. The art style is decent, and the music is catchy, but man is the gameplay a total bore.

I dug the game, and it's well worth the asked for price, but I really wish they'd gone a little further with it. There's no, like, Lover's Mask in this game, you know? The intricacy of the entire world being simulated at once is never actually needed to solve any of the puzzles. It's all very local and straight forward.

But love love love the idea and the vibe.
