There is no portrayal to speak of. She's barely a factor in the game. She gets more screen time in Kingsglaive, the prologue movie.
She would have had to have been portrayed at all for someone to actually answer this question.

I'm convinced that he makes these statements to piss people off, so I'm just going to say that I liked whenever Lunafreya showed personality in the game and I would like to see more of that side of the character.

Anyway, yes, more Aranea please. She was literally the only character in the game I liked and wanted more of
She basically isn't.
Noctis and Lunafreya do not speak during the main game. They communicate in short sentences via telepathic, warping dog. We don't really know much about her. What we do know we learn retroactively or through side content. She is an utterly awful character.
I love how every time she tries to do something cool in Kingsglaive, Jesse from #BrBa all like "nah bitch"

Mostly this.
All they do is tell us how amazing what's she's doing is supposed to be.
It's barely shown and leads to maybe the most predictable moment in any game I've played.
