Three must watch shows then:
Eerie Indiana was like the X-files before the x-files, but more focus on "monsters" and things, not quite as sci-fi (though it does have some sci fi elements in some episodes).. Are you afraid of the dark was more of an anthology monster show, telling tales around a campfire, loved that show when it came out. Tales from the Crypt was also an anthology show, plenty of monsters and other good episodes with plenty of great actors throughout the series run. It was on HBO so it has some more mature elements vs the other two shows.
