Right, not too long ago I stumbled upon this site through some roundabout linking, it is another in the line of video reviews of bad video games being done by freelance journalist Noah "The Spoony One" Antwiller. Fortunately The Spoony One has taken a differnt tack then being just another AVGN Clone; moreover, he is probably the funniest reviewer out there next to the AVGN and Yahtzee.

SpoonyOne is the only video game reviewer outside of Yahtzee that i even bother with. So many hilarious moments (Nazi Subdirektor Skinner, Fuse Box count, the majority of FFVIII).

His writtten movie reviews are a great read as well.

Seen some of his stuff before but forgot where to find it. The Final fantasy one is epic and pretty much sums up the reason I don't touch most RPG's in general.

Holy shit at Anal Cannon :lol The first half of the review just dragged on and was annoying, but it definitely made up for it later. I actually enjoy FFVIII, played it a few times, but every damn thing this guy says is right, there's some down-right retarded shit in it.

The ET review sucked, it was just random "this game sucks" bitching you find on youtube, and far too long.

But I'm watching the FFVIII one now and I'm laughing my ass off :p


Edit : this guy really has a gift to derail himself. The "teacher" part is far too long, and the GunBlade bitching (out of the gameplay side) is totally unnecessary and stupid.

And I don't even like GunBlades or Final Fantasy in the first place. There's so much to criticize in old school JRPGs, he doesn't have to pull some "look at me FFVIII fans I'm shitting on your favorite game!! I'm so cool wow !".

I'll probably watch the six other parts, I just hope that in the end it doesn't seem like he could have done it in 3.

Well, one should not expect too much for the E.T. Review since Noah was in great pain and under heavy sedation.

I wouldn't compare this guy to Yahtzee... but I do like seeing reviews done in a different way. I kept skipping around, not because his reviewing was bad, but the game itself was so terrible. I like the Kris Kross portion the most, his description of the black guy who sounds like a white guy imitating a black guy was good. Also the miggity miggity mack daddy part was annoying then turned funny as it went on. I will check other reviews now, thanks for sharing this.

Well, nor would I, though it should be noted that Ben likes Noah's work here, specifically The Thing video. Still, he is also a refreshing change from the multitudes of AVGN clones.

I've only found out about the Spoony One about a month ago. I love that most of his reviews are 30+ minutes long. It lacks any kind of structure, he just begins the game and plays it from beginning to end. The random comments don't always work, but in a strange way it's part of the charm. Imo easily the equel of Yahtzee or AVGN.

I used to watch ZP but I've since moved onto this instead. He strikes a good balance between amateur movie making and angry reviews. So yeah, chalk up another recommendation for this guy.

As I recall, in one of those Spoony Vlogs, Noah mentioned that the Final Fantasy 8 project went on suspension, no officially canceled mind you, but on hiatus due to a combination of technical problems, lost save and the fact that he really hate slogging through Final Fantasy VIII.

His game reviews are great, but his movie reviews are fantastic. I sat and read through them all not too long ago.
