Is the Mario Galaxy Comet Observatory in Mario 3D World?

So officialnintendomagazine.co.uk posted this article 10 things we learned from the Super Mario 3D World artwork today and one of the things was about the Comet Observatory from Mario Galaxy. I thought it was new thread worthy.

We had to look very closely for this one, but is that the Comet Observatory from Super Mario Galaxy? The Comet Observatory was the hub in Super Mario Galaxy. You know how Super Mario 3D Land had the special worlds after you completed the game? Wouldn't it be amazing if The Comet Observatory was the location for the special worlds.

In the large full size image of the artwork, to see where this is zoomed in from, look specifically at the sky above the volcano to the right of Bowser.

Heh, you know what's funny? People were complaining about the boxart because of the doubled characters, but now we have the double cherry and that actually happens in the game, lol.

The full size shows that it's an amusement park with bowser on the front.

Maybe you should read the OP? The Comet Observatory is behind the amusement park.

So.. why is there a circle with a 8 in it when that place is NOT the place where you should look?

Edit: Oh shit that's a bullet train. Literally

It's behind Bowser, above the volcano in the sky.

I'm assuming the Nintendo press site has an even larger image of the artwork, but I can't log into that with the guest credentials anymore. Hopefully someone with actual press credentials that can still log into Nintendo's press site could post the full size uncompressed artwork, if there is one.

The more I look at that official art, the more I feel that it's the first time they nailed the feeling of the hand-drawn Mario artwork from the NES/SNES with the 3D models. That little Koopa Troopa trying to get his shell just keeps catching my eye. Everything has a slightly softer edge to it. The colors are just a bit lighter - just enough.

It needs to be next month already.

That artwork! It's.... it's beautiful. Seriously, it's one of the best artworks I've ever seen from the Mario series. And I hope that Comet Observatory means what it means.

Skiesofwonder

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
Have we talked about the possibility of Wario showing up? Bowser's car and that casino/amusement park Bowser world just screams Wario to me.
