16-bit Cityscapes

This is probably a bit odd for a thread, but I've always loved cityscapes from mainly 16-bit (also 8-bit) games and would love to see as many of them posted in the one place as possible. The best example I can think of is Streets of Rage

And another random example in Skitchin'

I know there are a load more out there too, so hoping people can post any and all that they remember :) Title screen, cut scene, in-game - everything counts!

It's kind of small but I've always dug Casino Night's glitzy city backdrop.

Actually while i'm on the series, Stardust Speedway has a similar sort of background, well except a lot messier looking.

Well the Ultraman games pretty much half the time had a cityscape backdrop.

(Sorry about the small pics best I could find that weren't all the same skyline.)

Plus the vast majority of JRPG had some very interesting world maps way back when.

I'm not sure these count as 16-bit, but they look great:

Does anyone know what games these are from? I got them from GAF and I've tried to search for the original thread on here but haven't been able to track it down. I think it was like forgotten Japanese RPG's or something like that.

Casino Night Zone is the best.

I didn't like the game but the backgrounds of the Special Zone in Sonic CD with a city were a sight to behold.

16-bit cityscapes are what dreams are made of. Also wooded and naturey backgrounds do wonders too. I dream of those worlds beyond the picture.

Second one looks like Flashback, no?

Can somebody recommend me some Snatcher-type games?

When i say "Snatcher-type" im not talking about gameplay exactly. Its a mix of setting and gameplay style (but not exact gameplay mechanics)

Stuff like Shadowrun on the snes or even Flashback (but since i know these two they dont qualify)

D/Generation was a great Amiga/DOS game set in a tall, fututistic building. You could sometimes see the city when you went to the roof.

Second one is from Cyber City Oedo 808 for the PC engine.

As a lover of cities, these screens are pure bliss.

I always wondered what was going on with the city of Thor in Tales of Phantasia:

You enter from above into what seems to be an long-abandoned ancient ruin, but then from inside you can see what looks like a lively, vibrant city full of life... which you don't actually visit. What was the deal here?

Topic says 16-bit, but you also mention 8-bit, so I can't believe I'm the first one to post this classic from Punch-Out. Great topic btw, love these photos! I'm definitely more a wilderness kind of guy though :p

Two Crude Dudes.

I used to love this game. Was sat in the local arcade for years. I payed an arm and a leg for the Japanese MegaDrive version (Crude Buster) after realising all you had to do was file down the cart socket and hey presto.
