So it’s a great game. We can all carry on now and be friends and everyone can enjoy the game….right…..right? I just wish it was 60fps on consoles and I would buy a Series X this second. I think I’m going to build a beast of a PC to play this and all MS exclusives going forward.

Wait what the fuck, theres no space exploration in a space exploration game? THe more I read the more I regret my purchase, what the fuck are you even playing then? Just fast travel from empty planets, find a a stupid cave/base, do a stupid side-quest and thats it? No way. They must be exaggerating.

Yeah this shocked me the most, I thought it would be a core part of the game. I even thought there would be seamless flying in and out of planets like NMS but what you get here is a (excuse the pun) world away from that type of immersion. Instead, loading screens for just leaving the cockpit!

Lord of the Rings, the Amazon show, was good? It was a disappointment when measured against its predecessors in every respect, just like Starfield.

I actually found it better, less dragged out.
As to starfeild, considering the wide differing opinions so far, I'll reserve judgment for myself after actually playing it.

Lmfao get the fuck outta here are people serious

Sorry, that’s not directed at you. It’s just funny if people are saying that sort of thing unironically lol
No, it's serious. You literally had Xbox fans declaring that it was the last game they were ever going to play and that they will keep it playing it for the rest of their lives because it has over 1,000 planets to explore. And endlessly going on about the "hype".

I honestly didn't see any hype except for a few focused pockets of people... Most people I know who are into games semi-casually and don't own Xbox never even heard of Starfield.

But I was told multiple times who cares about not being seamless, no one will care!

Seems reviewers definitely cared when the game is just menu click loading screen click. It's 2023 ffs, people have ssds why do we have so many loading screens

There are people here with cum drinking bet apparently. I dunno how you could be friends after that. Or is it because they are friends that they do it?

Some were saying due to the sheer perfection that this game was undoubtedly going to be that it'd end the war in Ukraine.

Great scores for Starfield. A few issues with exploration and inventory stuff but Bethesda and Xbox will be pretty happy I bet.

There is such negativity that if someone hadnt looked the scores, he would think you are talking about a game in the 60's or something.

Also, typical brain behavior....people always fixate on the points of the reviewer which gave the lowest score..not only.that..they treat the lowest score as point of reference, accusing all other reviewers that gave the game a better score.

I enjoyed SM as well but its funny how so many PS guys are like "Oh 88 thats trash wait for SM2"

Meanwhile..

Watching now
Has even one person said 88 is trash? Literally just one, quote them.

Its just not what the person I quoted and a lot of this thread thought it was going to be. Guy I quoted literally "lmao!" at the notion of Spiderman 2 being as good. Now, I would imagine Spiderman 2 is favored to review better when if its an improvement on 1 it'll have that same score at minimum.

Also watched that... Locations being copy pasted more than 5x times, even enemy position is the same. Planets where you can't even travel to (and not only the gas giants)... This after the promise of having 1000 planets and places to explore?
What the actual fuck?
The ones who gave it 7 were the only ones who actually thoroughly played the game? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

It looks good. Not too bothered about the free traversal stuff but the copy pasta locations are kinda heart-breaking. Rerunning the same encounter and location half a dozen times on half a dozen different planets in the first twenty hours is a massive emersion breaker.

It's 88 on opencritic. That's the same score as Spider-Man, Horizon: Forbidden West, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Final Fantasy XVI. It's also higher then games like Ghost of Tsushima, Returnal, and Death Stranding.

How on earth are people trying to spin this as a bad game?

Sure it's not the 90+ that many were hoping for, but it's by most accounts a great game that you will sink a massive amount of time into. Three years plus from now this game will be have that special Bethesda touch of being even better due to the massive modding community.
