Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

I REALLY hope they switched up the progression. After playing TXR 2025 I really miss the way old games handled it. Showering you in supercars after 1 hour of playing kills these games for me.

Will subscribe for one month to play it. Will then wait for a deep discount to buy it.

Knowing Microsoft this game will have zero waifus even though it's in Japan. Such a slam dunk concept that only they'd fuck up.

I hope they change the unlock structure a bit, no real incentive to play for long when you can just use top tier cars basically straight away. Needs much better sense of progression.

Fab news. I expect it to be more of the same, but I'll be day 1 thanks to Gamepass and just because I can't wait to see the tech the team have made 5 years on from Forza Horizon 5

Good timing.
I think using the J50 as a preorder bonus is a nice touch. Not so much the preorder part but the story behind the car.

Ive lost interest in the series over the last two versions. Hoping for a return to enjoyment on my end.

If I cannot touge with a Toyota AE86 in this game, then they should cancel the IP entirely.

May......fuck.
Time to clear my schedule.

They better have scanned some new JDM cars.
They have a good roster already but we need moar moar!!!!
And please fix the progression.......or atleast give it a better structure, the more recent titles have been way too open ended that I end up just overwhelmed and kinda doing random shit and forgetting what I was aspiring too.

After this years TAS......no way they fuck up Japan on the customization options, it would be such a misstep to have wack customization after TAS has been kinda lackluster for years then TAS 2026 throws it all at us full wormage.
Its probably too late to get some of the more wild builds in the game, but they have to have to have a JDM Legends collection DLC with built cars and more customization options for whats out there now.

^Yes thats a real street legal car.

Let's see if they fuck up the progression again.

This.

Didn't they basically give you a super fast car right at the start of 5? Or at least close to the start. I want to "work" to get great cars, give us that feeling of accomplishing something.

But i have a feeling this won't be the case, unfortunately.

Won't preorder it, let alone buy it immediately, but if it is far and away better than FH5 (which I only just brought the premium edition after years of just playing it on Gamepass..) then I'll wait a while for the purchase, but I am not holding my breath that they'll open up the roster a bit more and include bikes/quad bikes like Motorstorm, and to an extent Project Gotham 4 did..

My only hope honestly. They can even keep the annoyingly over enthusiastic hosts talking bullshit in unskippable cutscenes, as long as they get the progression right

My main concern really. I've bought FH5 three times (Xbox/Steam/PS5) and dropped it every time. There's simply no reason to play when you have millions and cars like Senna almost from the start.
I play it to experience new usermade Eventlab races and unlock classics (that cannot be purchased). Originally I was aiming for a DMC Delorean but now I am looking to acquire an Alfa Romeo 8C Competition. Even though they have both made appearances in past releases the handling is different. It was really fun to do virtual tourism, reckless driving, stunts, and Hot Wheels DLC races.

I had a ton of fun playing FH5 with the GAF clan. I'll be doing the Ultimate Edition again. I usually get about 40hrs of intense fun from the FH games before I get a little bored. Then I'll return occasionally for events, expansions, and the occasional session with friends or family.

Maybe but I turn off VA on several games I play a lot as too many times the one liners on repeat get old
The lines were zoomer cringe as well in FH5. Like a total parody, but it wasn't. Especially the one girl and her eye rolling "Spanglish."

I'd like for a better progression system and a less dead world. Everywhere felt like a ghost town and you being the last people on earth, just concerned with racing, I guess.

Forza and Gran Turismo can learn so much from each other. Hope forza has some history on the cars like GT, and an actual campaign with progression. hell even just stricter races to progress through. just because i bought a 999X car doesnt mean i should unlock all the races for it 2 hours into the game.

Progression, events, really boring map compared to 3 and 4, lack of seasons.... All this made me play way less Horizon 5.

I still go back to old titles especially 2 and 4.

But at least they look like they are listening so I thing this game will way better than 5, also Japan was requested since first horizon. It will be incredible, can't wait to go down mountain haruna.

Can't wait ❤️

Horizon 5 was the first game that actually showed that they stopped in time, hopefully they can produce a fantastic game.

You guys crying about the progression are killing me. Just because events are unlocked doesn't mean you are forced to do them. The event structure is wide open and if you want to do nothing but off-road, that is available to you. Nothing but track racing, thats available to you. Nothing but rally, that too is available to you. It was completely open ended and it was what YOU made of it. I, for one, loved getting a mix of lower tier and max tiered reward cars and events. It kept options open on what to do next instead of being funneled into single event styles or a single lower class. The crying never ends. If they would have made a more curated progression system people would have been bitching about how linear it is and how they want more freedom. They can't win. Can't we all just agree that really its the human elements (story, voice acting, wokeness) that actually truly suck?

Agreed. Have they even shown, like any details about the game beyond the setting?

I recently played it again and there is room for improvement. I mean the whole progression is quite quickly done and than you are ending up with MMO style endgame. Log in every week, do the new events in two hours and that was it again. There is not much incentive to keep on playing, unless you want to collect all cars, which is again being put behind a gambling style minigame (a fortune wheel...wtf!?). When you have such relatively short progression than at least you need some more interesting endgame. Longer, better championships would be cool. Or even merge some Forza Motorsport stuff into Horizon.

The cringe presentation is also awful...thats true...but i can look over it. Its an (arcade) racing game after all.

Other than that, its really an absolute beautiful game with an awesome amount of cars. Maybe my favorite one from MS together with the Flight Simulator.
