Resident Evil Requiem |OT| Through the Darkness

I LOVE how some zombies in this game have some remaining memories when they were human like one of staff workers was obsessed turning lights off which you use to distract him or there was zombie of cleaning lady who cleaning blood on the floor.

This game is something special.

Got the Switch 2 version. Looks very jaggy on my 55 inch tv. All characters look like low polygon characters. HOWEVER, on handheld it looks fantastic! Cant see jaggies and its so smooth. Also, the split joycon gyro aiming is so fun and precise.virtual switch 2 Surround sound through handheld speakers sounds amazing. Will probably double dip and get the ps5 version later on sale.

Also Grace's reaction when I shot one of the zombies with a Leon's gun was priceless.

I love Grace, she is great character in this game……MUCH better than Ethan.

There is already a mod that allows to change FOV, removing film grain and improving HDR with RenoDX

All you have to do is to put dinput8.dll where the exe of the game is and when you launch the game there will be a small window on the left upper corner, you can change the settings there easily

Enjoy

This game is protected, and once I install Reshade with mod functionality (required for RenoDX), the game refuses to launch. Is there a workaround for this issue?

the voice actor for Victor is so, so good.

In fact, the audio in general is absolutely the highlight of this game for me, an audiophile.

The crisp thunder, ambient sounds, zombie noises, gunshots, crunching glass.. it's all absolutely perfect. Whoever is the lead sound designer deserves a raise.

making fucking bullets out of blood its the most stupid thing ever, why not keep the gunpowder ? , " let me put some scraps and blood together and plim pistol bullets who was the moron who thought about this... geez

So I played the game until the girl take the Leon's gun, my apologies but lately I have some difficult to remind all the names of the new characters, anyway I have a mixed feeling about this game. It's not surely bad in anyway but still the mixed styles of this RE not convince me at all. I would have preferred the RE8 and RE4R style in separate games because give me a sense of disconnection to the experience this repeated alternate in the gameplay mechanics. Also, the whole long introduction is totally unnecessary imo and gimmicks, it's not a Naughty Dog game why capcom did this outside maybe show the muscle of their engine? Replaying this part could be annoying. Sadly I can confirm their raytracing use is the worst on the market without kind of doubt from my perspective. Unstable as hell especially with the reflections at the first character movement. Again I repeat it's a fine experience but to me RE4R remains a league ahead for now and I expected more to be honest after seen this remake.

Leon's shoulder straps glitching into his body when running, the weapon on his back glitching through his arm while walking. I hate such small things... always take me out.

It's the little details like this that shows how much there is to do still to really have high fidelity graphics and not just the coats of paints and ray tracing. They almost all have clipping. It bothers me too.

Audio is amazing overall, but to me the VA sounds a bit muffled, low

I'm in a weird position where I feel like I've experienced everything Resident Evil has to give me for now. It's just been so much great content between the remakes and 7-8. I may hold off on this for now.

you can adjust the audio settings quite a bit, if it helps. I have extremely expensive headphones ( thank my autism ) and no issue here after tweaking the balances£

7.....7 is all I can rate this. Fun and all, but it's not beating it's predecessor RE4 or RE7 as the newcomer.

I hope there are dlcs, because this game as it is, it's just a greatest hits kinda thing lol.
Also replayability and no aeperate scenarios take the fun down enormously, I knew from the beginning I would hate it.

Where you
put the hand in the laser scanner thing and the screen says "let's play a game"?

Yeah, there's another step after that I've done but then nothing and can't find anything online maybe today someone will solve it lol.

Edit: I think there's a reward for it too in the achievements so we know it isn't 100% solved and isn't just an easter egg or something.

In case anyone is curious ( don't click if you want to avoid spoilers I guess ): https://game8.co/games/Resident-Evil-Requiem/archives/583642

I Dont Think So Captain America GIF by Chris Cimino

The fact that she didn't call for back up as soon as she saw that picture and the message is more unrealistic than first aid spray. Buy I'll excuse it cause she's blonde and it's a video game.

Good cause damn, I'm like why does HDR look worse than XSX and PS5? I hope this makes it look like the console versions when it comes to HDR on my OLED.

the lack of ammo on Grace sections and the amount of enemies is starting to get annoying, i m supposed to play the boring way ? kite enemies to a open run and avoid them ? also there is almost ZERO scrap to be found in order to craft items for her.

You cant even play smart cause your "knife" breaks after 5 attacks, the game doesn't even give you empty bottles to distract the amount of enemies, the balance is fucked on her segments.

What sucks is, the enemies won't follow you to the main hall. They turn around an go lol. Crapcom copy paste their shit all the time.

No ng+ is what really gets on my nerves. You get unlockables, but you have to buy these weapons and get parts, charms again.

That sucks to hear. I only got the Shotgun with Leon so I haven't noticed anything weird but maybe they just should've kept the Re4 formula, I didn't see any clipping in that game

You don't like the best thing the series has had to offer in the last 15 years?

lol best ? are you playing the game ?

her section are more a annoyance than scary ( only her first section is scary )

She has almost no ammo, she cant kick, she cant punch, there is almost no items to distract enemies, she has no dodge, theare is almost no items to craft, one use lock pick, there is lots and lots of enemies on her section and they eat to many bullets, you cant defend yourself, some enemies has super powers and i can go on.

aside from her starting areas, RE7 did scary way better and more balanced.

It's shit, and will make this game a one and done game.

There are many aspects of this game that will make it hard to want to go for repeated runs.

Honestly, I expected better.

The game should have been based around, solely Leon.

Exactly, this game right now is being saved by the "it's new" hype.

Once this settles down, expect a complete turnaround on the reception.

It's a 6/10 game at best.

Here i am sitting on 60 normal pistol ammo and 7 requiem ammo at the end of care center

Hmm i found a bug. I randomly checked my settings and looks like DLSS resets to performance after every game restart. Had to set it to quality again

Really? Are you looking at those large vases and crates? I find tons of ammo in those (playing on the normal difficulty). Aside from that I am crafting ammo. Its not as scarce for me.

You run out of ammo if you kill everything but you don't have to really, you can avoid enemies if needed

That being said, there is enough ammo to survive and even kill certain big enemies without any issues

Something tells me that people complaining about this simply aren't very good at playing the game

France, Paris.

it's called Fake out of home. Done well.

I'm kinda meh on the game so far. I play on S2, looks good on docked (more shimmering) and handheld (playin in a bomb shelter). However the controls are clunky, I have no idea what to do with Leon like sometimes he just does stuff. Very strange when I'm not the one triggering it.

Ok -

I'm assflaps deep into the Raccoon City section with Leon; specifically scaling the toppled building where you encounter BSAA Zombies and can shoot the glass beneath their feet. While I feel like the city itself isn't overly wowing me, the design of the objectives in this section is really fun

This is all i have at the moment, doing the east side of care center ( and there is lots of enemies that i didnt kill for the lack of ammo on west side ), also there is almost zero vases or crates to be found.

i have 7 "normal" enemies to deal with + one scream lady and a fat boy and 8 bullets

It sucks that you have to get all of that back, but at least its purchasable from the start with Leons tracker that he gets in the second game. Im good with it for now, because Im going to go on an easy run after the standard classic just to unlock more content and I guess the racoons because I am bound to miss some first time.

Some of these callbacks man, lol.

Also, amused by some of the retarded takes in this thread, keep em coming boys, the first GOTY contender of 2026 soaks up your tears 😆

Grace part is awful so far. Hope the balance becomes better soon. Trailers for this were a lie so far.

Nobody on God's green earth would not have preferred it be Leon only.

There are some enemies you don't really need to tackle on right away. Shoot their legs and then push them if the prompt comes up to get away. Then come back later if you need to get access to an area once you have ammo.

Is it the first scream lady you encounter? There is another gun in that piano bar/lounge, but I think that's the one in your inventory already?

I just found this online. If you are okay using a guide, this tells you where ammos and other items are. Just toggle the stuff you want to see on the map.

Yes already got the bar gun, i m on the east side where the fat boy appears

Got it. That link is for all areas in the game, so you can select the different areas you're in and find some ammo.

Chunks is optional to kill, but you can simply hide from him and run around.

yeah, he is easy to deal, i got killed by the screaming lady that summoned 3 "normal" enemies and i had 3 bullets to deal with them.

right now the game is feeling like a mess and awfully balanced.

So far yeah the screaming lady needs more bullets to taken down unless it's the Requiem gun. I am just hording that ammo type for emergency based situations.
