Asha Sharma: Next Xbox Project Name: "Helix" - Will 'lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games'

I feel like they're unveiling this wayyyyyyyyyyyy too early. We just entered 2026 and you're already going to talk about your next generation plans. I really don't understand Xbox at all anymore.

All these people celebrating PC games…….

Congrats, you get to plug a keyboard and mouse into it and treat it like a computer. Most PC games that aren't bigger release don't have controller support

I think this whole "I GET MY STEAM LIBRARY!" is so mislead.. if you have a Steam library, you have a Steam capable machine already. So who the fuck cares?
Are you trying to make a point?

There it is, regardless of whether Playstation games sell well on PC or not, this alone is reason enough for Sony to stop doing it.
10 years ago I'd be naive enough to believe that a project like this could benefit Windows and consequently PC players. Now I just think Valve and Steam Machine will shit on whatever AI slop infused aberration Microsoft come up with.

Xbox and PC games? Or Xbox are PC games? Any chance the console gets exclusive that do not play on other PCs? I'm just over here thinking about my fun money budget and if I will need to consider this purchase.

I just can't understand who in their right mind would look at current HW/chip market and say something like "it's a very good, even terrific idea to reveal a premium powerful device with low volumes".

Good luck, Microslop. You'll need it.

which games don't support controllers?

and also, that's literally the concept behind the Steam Deck and the Steam Machine... and you know, you can have a system in place to rebind keyboard/mouse inputs to a controller.
I played Deus Ex on a Steam Deck, all with manually mapped keyboard/mouse to controller inputs, and it played better than the official PS2 port that had controller support lol.

The problem of the Steam Machine is that it lacks the Fortnite Store.

My point is that this seems like a waste of resources by MS…. who exactly is this trying to appeal to?

You're not appealing to the console crowd because they're gonna go PS since all Xbox games are on PS and PC

You aren't appealing to the PC crowd because they already have PCs and this isn't going to beat that

You aren't appealing to the common consumer because you're going to price them out

So trying to appeal to everyone and you appeal to no one

I guess this and PS6 are probably still 3 years out? Maybe 2 years away at the soonest? It sounds like this is still in early development.

Males sense why Sony is quitting the PC Market.

Helix is a hybrid, meaning you will be able to play God of War in this.

If you really want to drive home how far the Xbox brand has fallen, consider that what was once a big E3 reveal is now a tweet with an AI slop logo.

I don't think some C&C games support controller. Or if they do, it's not very well.

Sounds like you're just projecting your own (highly questionable) thoughts onto the "common consumer".

It's because they're possibly going to reveal the "Universal" SKU of Xbox ecosystem games for next gen at the GDC between March 11-14. Hopefully with universal licensing making every new game Play Anywhere.

Didn't that Sneaker guy just say this thing was dead, "stick a pin in it", a "dagger", like a week ago. Maybe random forum posters don't know the upper level inner workings of multi trillion dollar corporations.

Yep, I guess people are just supposed to forget that Steam announced their own console that will already do this, and not be infested with AI.

They are gonna be talking about the next Xbox at GDC 2026?

Thats alot......alot sooner than I was expecting.
I hope it aint behind closed doors or hidden in the vault......my vault membership aint.

Either way RALLY THE TROOPs.
