The last State of play was already pretty good, lets hope Sony will show us "cool sony" again... It is needed after some rather dry years on Playstation

now that I think about, it seems like it's almost imperative for them to have a strong showing because of the recent price hikes on their consoles, because they'll need to give a the consumers a good reason to buy the consoles.

- Random third party live service slop from studio you forgot about , game will also be forgotten about within a week.

- Random cheap accessories that no one asked for.

- Three games with cartoon unreal engine 4/5 slop art style from obscure Japanese developer

- Several self congratulating sizzle reels on ps plus usually some games you completed three years ago

- Tentpole game debuts but disappoints has slightly off visuals looks like dulled down version of other games.

- Show gets A on Neogaf actual rating should be C or D

Are there any first party studios that are in a space to announce new games? Weren't most of them caught up in recent GAAS cancelations and stuff?

I can see Astrobot 2 being a thing by now, especially if it is highly iterative.

Venom still hasn't been officially announced so that could one. The Faye game could be another. ND has another game in dev besides Intergalactic. Insomniac is probably working on more than just Wolverine. Yeah, Astro Bot 2 is going to happen at some point, but I think it is early for that.

So yeah....I see lots of possibilities for announcements, but that doesn't mean we will get any.

i would not want to be spoiled 20 min long on a game i am interested in, and I would not want to be bored 20 min with a game I am not interesed in either. So 20 is a bad idea in any way. Maybe, only maybe if it is an actually brand new IP. Setting a tone with some real life orchestra E3 God of War style and than introducing to the lore of the new IP. But Wolverine should show a few cutscene elements and a few gameplay cuts. No need to actually elaborate.

I just chose 20 minutes as an over / under starting point.

I think Starfield had a 30 minute in depth presentation before launch.

I'd just be curious to hear what the expectation is for "an extended look into Wolverine" (title of this thread) as I can tell me dentist to use that time for my root canal.

So do I. But the biggest problem for me has been just not knowing WHEN these shows are going to happen. And it seems like the whole industry's finally settling back on the old E3 schedule again now, which is a relief. So I can accept the piecemeal approach much more easily knowing at least we still definitely get 2 big events a year and just treat anything else as a bonus.
