SIE and Rockstar Games work together to deliver the best experience on PS5 by leveraging its innovative features.

Since Grand Theft Auto first arrived on the original PlayStation in 1997, the series has defined generations of play. We know players are excited for Grand Theft Auto VI, which heads to the state of Leonida — home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond, in the biggest, most expansive evolution of the series yet.

Thanks to the close partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI will play best on PS5 by taking advantage of PS5's immersive features to deliver a deeply engaging single-player experience when it launches on November 19.

PS5 puts you in the center of the game world with the DualSense wireless controller reacting to your actions and bringing the sights, sounds, and sensations of Jason and Lucia's story into the palm of your hands. The controller's haptic feedback offers responsive vibrations, while its adaptive triggers provide dynamic resistance. The controller's integrated speaker also adds another dimension to key moments and interactions, with sound effects from the controller enhanced by haptic feedback.

With Tempest 3D AudioTech, you can surround yourself in the distinct soundscapes of Leonida. From the streets of Vice City to the moments that unfold all across the state, this highly accurate audio positioning enhances your perception, helping to bring this world to life around you in unmatched ways. Grand Theft Auto VI also leverages the PS5's ultra-high speed SSD, enabling you to experience the expansive world of Leonida with near-instant load times.

Purchases made before November 20 will also include the Vintage Vice City Pack, a collection of items inspired by Vice City's neon-soaked past. Players who pre-order any edition on PlayStation Store will also instantly receive a redeemable free month of GTA+.

For new players who are looking to jump in, it's a great chance to also see why PS5 is the best place to play. Players can pick up a PS5 or PS5 Pro at direct.playstation.com (where available) and at local retailers.

Game page even shows a new tag:

That marketing deal money starting as well.

edit: "near instant load times" is great to be confirmed though.

edit 2: I meant to write on that title "GTA+" Not GTA Online. Lemme warn some mods lol

A detailed Sony PlayStation blog about GTA 6 has revealed a lot of things but most importantly:

No mention of the Pro just the PS5 but of course I assume the Pro will obviously be better than Base PS5

I mean, I doubt it will be different on XSX.

Im very interested with the dual sense features. I hope it as immersive and fun dualsense functions just like astrobot, gt7 and stellar blade. By the way, what are the ps5 pro enhancements?

Sony is going to sell consoles with this game like hotcakes.

But what if they don't have any consoles to sell?

If they really use the custom I/O blocks to decompress data on PS5 there should be a magnitude of difference. Like 1sec vs 10sec.

No big games have near instant loading on XSX, even in their first party games, when PS5 has a few of them. We'll see.

I'm already used to the FUD on NeoGAF about Sony.

Xbox also has hardware decompression. SSD speed is 2GB/s vs. 5GB/s and no game is even close to saturating that in gameplay.

We will see.

Im sorry, ill take issue with that... we can see that first party sony games show 'teh powah of ssd'... i mean, Demon Souls Remake and Spider man 2 has less loading time than Nine Sols! It's a pity that Sony did not want to require the usage of 'teh powah of ssd' for third party games and, for the vast majority of third party games, the SSD brute force is enough (truth be told, if i am a game developer, I would only use brute force too).

That's without compressing data. PS5 custom I/O is doing 9-10GB/s on average with compression with zero CPU usage. It's really potent, when properly used.

Sadly only a few games are using it and we have no multiiplat games that would use it on PS5 so we have not yet really compared against the traditionnal CPU decompression. But still I am a bit surprised Rocktar would take the time of using it on PS5 only. Even Guerrilla don't use it on PS5, and they are 1st party.

Seems like as good of time as any to start asking how we'll see the online naming conventions handled now that we'll have 5 and 6 running at the same time eventually.

Sony resorting to its usual communication tactics.
This is how the market works. Sony is obviously going to try to convince everyone that PS5 is the best place to play GTA VI, and for the average consumer, that marketing will be effective.

There's nothing unusual about it. It's just standard business.
