With the AI Server boom still in full swing, consumer hardware is basically on hold for the next few years.
Unless there is a major crash with the AI market, everything else will be too expensive.
 
Ima be real. WIth the way things are going, I'm gonna be PC+Nintendo for the foreseeable future. I'll run my PS5 until the wheels fall off, but current prices are not worth the occassional Sony game for a PS6.
 
I am just buying everything on switch at the moment lol . at this rate I am probably going to go low power pcs from now on. if they even exist. the majority of games being put out these days just are not good enough to warrant the high cost.

No, not at all.

I feel like the consoles we have now put out great looking games and perform well. I really don't see where they are lacking. Especially the PS5 Pro.

No, I'll probably first save up for a Switch 2 once it gets new Mario and Zelda games. PS6 will likely have so few first party games in its first five years that I wouldn't be able to motivate a purchase. Depends on when RDR3 releases and if it has a male or female main character.
 
Kind of, I'm on PC and have been debating an AM5 jump and generally unsure if I should get a 5000 series card or just hold out for 6000 series. Really curious about the chiplet design AMD has been working on too.
 
I've already pulled the trigger end of last year on a RTX5080. I hope it will get me all the way to the PS7 generation.
I've made the descision that I'm not buying anymore hardware till after 2030.
 
I'm worried, not really waiting

I mean, it's going to happen eventually, but this gen is just a lukewarm that was promised and prices got high. It's not a good mix
 
It's all about the games. This gen feels like started a year or two ago. It doesn't matter when the next-gen comes, if there are no games to make proper use of the hardware.
 
I haven't waited on next gen since PS4 came out.

We are in a golden time. Elden Ring came out on PS4. That means that the best games we can create are already possible on current hardware. Why would I have FOMO over such a small upgrade?

No, I think I'm content. Sure, I'll get excited and buy it as it comes but no need to rush. Slow down. Smell the roses. These are the halcyon days. GTA is coming out and that Zelda game is going to be fun(you know it will be). That last Destiny 2 patch is a banger and a half and I'm playing it with my brother. These are the days of our lives.

Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone.

idk those things were still using = to an underclocked AMD FX8350 those CPU's ran pretty poorly a few years after release. I remember struggling to run DayZ at the time.

Hell no.
I have a nice gaming PC so I'm good for everything coming in the next 5+ years.
I will only buy a PS6 if the exclusives are good enough.
I also have a switch 2 for all Nintendo exclusives
 
I don't expect XBOX to make a comeback, and Sony needs to impress me with good exclusive titles for me to even consider buying another console. Bit the bullet and bought a new PC for too much to entertain me for years to come. I'm in no rush to buy anything else.

That's what I remember. Back then, people were blaming the hardware. Now, I think this is the first time I've seen the majority of people saying they either don't want or simply don't care about new hardware.
 
Yes, gimme MOAR power! PS5 Pro with PSSR2 has been a nice upgrade, but is still a good ways behind high-end PC's. I want to bridge the gap more without having to get into PC.
 
Why should we wait for next gen ? Never made any sense.

The only thing to wait for is the the next game you want to play. Hardware is irrelevant. You buy it because it is a means to play the games.
