Seems like I could make a worthwhile upgrade then. I'll need to consult my boards support page to see what CPU upgrades I can do and to see if I need a BIOS update.

Nice that is an option for people, but shame the TDP is the same. Didn't watch video - wonder if the cache is underneath the processing cores to help with temps like on the 9800x3d.

FWIW 7800x3ds on the used market are under 300 usd constantly and if you're near a micro center the 7600x3D is an amazing upgrade over what you have in power and efficiency for the price.

I think I last updated it last year I believe. I remember when I built this thing it wouldn't boot if I turned on the AMD expo thing. I never bothered to figure out why as I got the memory for free. Might be worth trying that again as well after updating.

Sadly no Microcenter near me….where I live is rapidly becoming a tech city, but they just refuse to build one here. Probably good for my wallet that they don't I suppose.
