What a show, must have been awesome to be there. I was just a kid but I had never been so excited for a new console before, waiting for the GCN and SSBM. I remember there was a website counting down the days and they would release new info about the items, characters, or stages in a drip feed leading up to release. A couple years after I got my GCN I ended up getting a PS2 as well, felt like the luckiest kid ever having both consoles. Gen 6 was amazing for a lot of reasons, 2001 to 2004 was one of the greatest periods the industry has ever had.

Ssbm was a surprise the day after Nintendo's show. They were just like, oh ya we've got some more. It was a huge surprise.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Hell yeah I was hoping someone would post this video. I watched half of it last night and it was awesome.

Also, for anyone not familiar, Game Sack is by far the best video game YouTube channel around. It’s technical, very comprehensive, extremely well-edited, and doesn’t have any annoying “YouTuber personality” shit. No sponsorships or bullshit at all.

This E3 vid is atypical to the standard vids, which are meticulously scripted and edited. I’d highly, highly recommend this channel. You can really tell how much hard work goes into it.

What a special time. The golden age of gaming, I hope the younger gen gets to see videos like this. Of course, they'd probably be like us when people reflect on Pong/Pacman/etc

No DLCs
No microtransactions
No always online
No pay to win
No DEI
No bullshit

You buy the game, you play the full game. Back when the companies respected the time of the consumers. And gamers were excited for almost any and all games.

Those were the days.
Yes no DEI and no pronouns to go along with bullshit agendas from devs. Just pure gaming fun.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
I remember this. I was in highschool and I had a biology exam coming up, and I coudn't stop watching things from this event. A miracle happened and I was able to pass the exam. But instead of studying I spent the whole three days engaged with E3. Pikmin, Luigi, MGS2, the whole thing. Debating in online forums..I don't recommend doing that though..

This couldn't have been E3 in March 2001. E3 was in May. Also, where are all the Xbox games? There were no Dreamcast games at E3 2001, as they announced going third party in Feb. of that year. I wonder what show this footage is actually from.

Virtua fighter 4 released in 01 on arcades but in 02 on the PS2. So it had to be around there

There were no Dreamcast games at E3. I was there. Ah OK. It's all labelled incorrectly. The Crazy Taxi footage reads "May 2001." None the stuff labelled as Dreamcast was on Dreamcast there actually. I see they have Jet Set Radio Future labelled as a Dreamcast game too. That was Xbox only. Same for Shenmue 2.
