【ソフト&ハード週間販売数】3週連続で『ペーパーマリオRPG』が首位獲得! Switch『マリオパーティ』2作品もトップ10に返り咲き【6/3~6/9】 | ゲーム・エンタメ最新情報のファミ通.com

[Weekly software and hardware sales figures] Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door tops the charts for the third consecutive week! Two Switch Mario Party titles also return to the top 10 [June 3-9]

Sales ranking announced by Famitsu. This time, we bring you a summary of the estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from June 3rd to June 9th, 2024.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door which depicts the adventures of Mario and friends who have become as thin as paper is doing well. 19,180 units were sold this week bringing the total to 168,833 units, it has topped the charts for three consecutive weeks.

This is a remake of the GameCube version released in 2004 with improved graphics and convenient changes to gameplay. The variety of stage gimmicks such as using his thin body to get through narrow gaps and transforming into a paper airplane to fly through the sky seems to be well received by new users, and sales are going well.

While the top 10 regulars such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Minecraft rank high from second place onwards, the ones to watch are Super Mario Party at seventh place and Mario Party Superstars at ninth place. These are the 11th and 12th titles in the Mario Party series which allows you to enjoy a variety of mini-games. Although the former was released in 2018 and the latter in 2021, they are still popular with many users and are likely to continue to sell well in the future.

Including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which ranked 8th, six titles featuring characters from the Super Mario series made it into the top 10 this week.

Japan is still dominated by the Switch. I honestly wonder if Nintendo plans on a price drop to try and sell the majority of stock before announcing the successor. A price drop in Japan would shoot sales way up.

Hardware sales are still good in Japan. But Switch does need (and I think will get) a price cut and/or aggressive bundling in the West.

It's the only way for Nintendo to hit their hardware target.

The only reason Nintendo would need to do a price cut is if they are overstock and need to clear shelf space for Switch 2.

Right now Nintendo looks to just maximize profits.

Weird that Both Mario Parties are back in the top ten with Super being higher than Superstars, I do wonder if Switch will get one more Mario Party game.

Very odd, clearly the same-screen local multiplayer component is a big part of Switch's success.

The main reason would be to hit their hardware target. They want to hit 13 milion for the fiscal year, and they won't do that without taking some strong action.

Everything is an evergreen for Nintendo, they just keep selling. Not sure if it's a reflection on Nintendo, or how poor Playstation offerings are.

Incredible.

i think it's also because recently momotaro or something like boardgame is kind of popular again, then people craving something in their switch. people who havent own the Mario Party, suddenly buy it. just some assumption, doesn't have real data thought
