I'm still kinda hoping that everything we've seen so far is mostly from a short intro level before the large time jump.

Maybe the actual game has an interesting story, and gameplay. Maybe!

All the hype pre-E3.
Then everyone got cold quick once they showed the footage.

That's okay guys, not every game has to be good.

The game feels like one of those ''licensed'' xmen games they used to produce on the PS2.
Superhero games with multiple controllable characters were never all that.

As with the Infamous, Batman or Spidey game, it's best to just focus on developing the story, world, gameplay, game design of one character than trying to fit 6 into a single game.

i don't understand how they didn't get the faces, just recast the voices if you must

marvel you cheap bastards
That's not the problem.

Speaking of the comics, there are lots of variations of the various heroes, they change with every artist.

The problem is that the faces in that trailer are bland, uninspired and badly modeled. They are kind-of-but-not-exactly the heroes of the movies, and this creates a dissonance. The guy who said "Sbeve Robers, Toby Stank and frons" perfectly nailed it.

I get that actor likenesses are probably off the cards but bland is too kind of a word to describe it.

Honest question: was there similar discontent when the Peter Parker or other characters from the PS4 game were revealed?

I don't understand the desire to have these characters be from the movies. This is a different thing.

I do remember some people saying that MJ wasn't hot enough.

Whew! That works out perfectly. Ultimate Alliance 3 comes out the day after to wash the bad taste out of our mouths.
I preordered that the other day. Gotta take advantage of Best Buy’s gamers club. Only have a couple months left.
