Russia begins Invasion of Ukraine

It's too late for that buddy. We are already that involved I would say this has been a proxy war since the last year.
I don’t think so. At the moment support only leads to Ukraine being able to hold the line and maybe slowly get territory back.

Giving them long range capabilities would change that. With that change comes uncertainty where all this is going.
No one outside Poland (because they would be next) want’s a war with Russia over Ukrainian, sounds harsh but I guess that’s the motivation behind all this.

NATO wants a stalemate and sometime down the line an agreement between Ukraine and Russia to then continue business with both.

NATO I think has no real interest to not be in economic relationship with Russia and by proxy China whom both have a wealth of natural resources.

Ukraine has received Western weapons with permission to hit Russia – Latvian Foreign Ministry.

Military intelligence general: Chasiv Yar's fall probably a matter of time.

Battle of Chasiv Yar begins: On the ground with Ukrainian forces defending city key to Russia’s plans.

Local Kyiv website reports on Ukrainian men beginning to voluntarily flock to the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s military record centers, centers are now open 24H a day (Ukrainian source, https://nashkiev.ua/news/bilya-ttsk-u-kievi-utvorilis-chergi-choloviki-priishli-onoviti-dani-foto).

This Ukrainian ATACMS strike on training ground seems to have caused huge losses for Russian Army.

Isn’t Ukraine’s Starlink reach limited to Ukrain territory only? I do think they meant Russian territory in the vicinity of the boarder.
Not striking Moskau. It the only reason why NATO countries are slow to give Ukraine the latest tech that makes sense to me.

NATO could give Ukraine weapons to destroy every Russian in Ukraine territory within days.

jfc, it's like looking at some smooshed ants.

Zero sympathy of course. We all know they had opportunities to not be there.

A sober reminder of what it means to be oppressed by the Russian Federation.

Hospitals in Russian-occupied Luhansk Oblast are reportedly threatening to confiscate newborns from mothers if neither of the newborn’s parents can prove that they have Russian citizenship. Luhansk Oblast Military Administration Head Artem Lysohor reported on May 1 that mothers who give birth at hospitals in occupied Luhansk Oblast will be required starting on May 6 to prove that at least one of the newborn’s parents has Russian citizenship in order for the hospital to discharge the newborn. If this report is accurate, such actions violate Article II(d) of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which defines genocide as “imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group.”[122]

Meanwhile Russia is out here losing at least 128 T-90s.

Russia hits Kharkiv again, fourth time today. They're not just bombing us; they're trying to break people’s resilience.

Long story short: the Russians forced this man to join their military from one of the occupied regions. He ended up shooting six Russians and fled.

Situation north of Avdivka: #RussianArmy took control over new trenches north of Keramik. In addition, #UkrainianArmy withdrew from the northern part of Arkhanhelske and the adjacent trench system.

Situation south of Bakhmut: #RussianArmy retook all the territory that lost ten days ago (https://x.com/Suriyakmaps/status/1782892136129520031) between Ivanivske and Klishchiivka.

Kotlyarivka-Kyslivka - Yesterday, the footage did not yet confirm Russian full control over Kotlyarivka, but geolocation confirmed the footage was indeed in the center of the settlement, confirming Russian control/occupation.

Russians pouring guided bombs and ballistic missiles on any residential neighborhood they can reach in Kharkiv.15 victims in this small neighborhood yesterday, leaving ruins.

Finland wants to build a TNT plant amid a shortage of shellsCurrently, there is only one such plant in the EU, in Poland, and it is unable to handle all the orders.

Are the f-16 that eventually arriving this summer going to be used to stop the guide bombing planes?

I'm kinda ignorant about what they are used for even though they've been in pop culture for 40 years.

They could possibly be used to engage the bombers dropping the glide bombs, I have no idea if they could be engaged by russia fighters in return. I think the air to air missile on the f16 have up to 150km range, and the glide bombs are being dropped from like ~70km away so the f16 would need to be like ~70km away from wherever the target is which probably puts them within range of russia air to air missiles.

It wont be untouchable or able to counter russian air all by itself, it should help but the problem like everything ukraine gets is they are expected to be used in conjunction with other equipment which they normally don't get.

edit: That isn't the video I thought it was, there was one going through the weapons and their uses but will leave that until I find the right one.

If you find yourself wondering "How pissed is Russia about Ukraine getting F16s? Are they really a big deal?". Here's your answer:
Russia Warns Ukraine's F-16s Will Be Treated as Nuclear Threats - Newsweek
While F-16s can accommodate certain nuclear weapons in the right configuration, Ukraine does not have a nuclear arsenal and there have been no indications that any allies who do possess nuclear weapons intend on sharing them with Kyiv.
The F-16s—provided by Western allies including Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium—will represent a much-needed update to Ukraine's aging fleet of largely Soviet-made aircraft that have been battered and depleted after more than two years of combat.
Russia also claimed that the arrival of the F-16s was a "purposeful provocation" by "the United States and NATO," despite neither having supplied the aircraft to Ukraine.
And now Ladies and Gentlemen, your moment of zen:
"We cannot ignore the fact that these planes are dual-purpose platforms that can be used both for nuclear and non-nuclear tasks," the Russian Foreign Ministry statement reads. "No matter what modification of the aircraft will be supplied [to Ukraine] we will treat them as nuclear-capable and we will consider this step of the United States and NATO as a purposeful provocation," it continues. The ministry's statement goes on to warn that "the regime in Kyiv and its Western sponsors should realize that their reckless steps are bringing the situation closer to the point where it will attain 'critical mass' and explode."
"Any aircraft is actually nuclear weapons capable," U.S. Air Force Weapons School alumnus and former F-16 pilot Christopher Stewart said in comments last year to The Kyiv Post, where Stewart also serves as an editor. "A blimp, dirigible, zeppelin or hot air balloon is nuclear weapons capable."

Shot down by Magura missile drone boat... hope they figure out how to mount Stingers on them too.
Did they really get it with one of the missiles mounted on the drone boat? Their best pair of war criminals taken out by a bloody radio controlled jetski, the indignity must burn almost as much as their oil refineries.

Nobody wants russia military crap anymore, looks like the yanks bought a bunch for cheap to help maintain ukraines russian crap until the f16's arrive.

It's supposedly the same drone boat later filmed being shot up by a RuSSkie helicopter, it has two racks of missiles, one was empty.
Good trade, a cheap arse drone boat for a highly advanced airplane and two war criminal.
Ukraine is really making the best out of drones. Ukraine advanced in a undisclosed area using drones too.
