Will you ever finish the arms? Plus, great draw since you started yesterday.
Edit: Go Velvet Blue!

Yeah, I'll finish that one. I drew that while I was recovering from working on the lineart on another piece that drove me mad.

I really like the way your lines come out, Setsu. Is that SAI, by any chance?

I do, yes. I primarily use the pen tool to get my lines done since I'm not a fan of the rather artificial look of the lineart tool.

Part 132, about to discover the killer!

Also, while watching them play P4, I noticed that (P4 spoilers)
once you rescue Naoto and come back to home, Adachi is supposed to be drunk, but unlike Yukiko or Rise or Teddie, he only says like 2 lines actually 'drunk' and then continues to talk normally even though he has that blush portrait to seem like he is drunk, and then he tells you about how the case doesn't seems to be closed yet and stuff, so in reality he was faking it to just spill more info onto you. (I did notice that he spilled other info on purpose on other situations 'accidentally', but I didn't recall this.)
So yeah, I didn't remember it the first time I played so it's kinda neat to see these events from another perspective now that I have completed it.

Hey guys,

Never posted in here before but I just finished Persona 4 Golden. I have never played a Persona before and I was really blown away by this. Th ending game me all sorts of feels and I just really enjoyed the game a lot. I thought the characters were all corny and cliched at first but I really formed an attachment to them by the end. Can't wait for Persona 5!

Anyway, not that this is news to any of you, but just wanted to contribute my 2 cents :D

Congrats ♪

Have you thought of playing Persona 3? It should be a familiar game with a different set of characters and a completely different atmosphere.

Thanks guys, so nice :3

Favorite girl? Probably Chie
but to be honest I would have romanced the hell out of dojima if possible :p

Haven't looked into P3 at all. Is it good for someone who liked the story of 4 a lot but wasn't that into or good at the gameplay? I beat it on normal but I did a lot of grinding.

If you pick Persona 3 Portable and choose the Easy mode you could enjoy a very good experience just like P4. And you can play as a male character or as a female one, with significant differences regarding the Social Links for each genre.

And welcome to PGAF, dude! lol

Chie eh? Not bad.

I think you'll really enjoy P3. If you weren't into P4's gameplay you might appreciate how dungeon crawling works in P3. It's basically one giant dungeon so you're free to explore it at your leisure. There's also an easy mode in FES/P3P iirc. I find P3's story to be better than P4, it doesn't follow the investigate>rescue>wait>repeat structure of P4.

If I were you I'd get P3 FES over P3P.
FES pros: cutscenes, epilogue, 3D exploration
FES cons: no manual party control

P3P pros: Female route, manual party control
P3P cons: no cutscenes, cursor style navigation, no epilogue

Does 3 still use the social link system? I'm definitely interested in trying out. Also, does it ever go on sale on PSN? And should I check out Arena?

It sure does! P3 introduced the social link system.

I believe FES and P3P occasionally go on sale. Keep in mind that you'd need a PS3 to download FES since it's a PS2 Classic.

Even if you're not into fighting games you should check out Arena. It has a substantial story mode and serves as a canon sequel to P4. I'd play it after P3 since it also has characters from that game as well.

P3 is approximately 70 hours.

And welcome!

Thanks!

Even though 4 was my first Persona, I am super hyped for 5. I hope they go for a cel-shaded, Ni No Kuni-esque style. Not sure how you guys feel about it, but have the developers discussed implementing gay romances in 5?

Oh man, I beat persona 4 today and started golden for the first time.

It is fantastic! I had high expectations, and this raised the bar much higher. Can't say I'm too big of a fan of marie's character atm, but man everything from the night time visuals/music to the sos and updated dungeon stuff is so great.

I was a bit iffy on Chie's new VA, but she nailed the "aha, is this our chance?" line, so It'll be alright

We don't really know anything concrete about the game.

Persona 4 was going to have one that got dropped fairly late in development (as in having nearly-complete scripts and voice acting, and by nearly-complete I mean you need to change like 5 lines of code in order to retrieve the original scenes from the Social Link.)

Persona 2: Innocent Sin actually did have one.

It was
Yosuke
.

I'm assuming that they didn't have the time to implement the rest of the "lover" scenes that all of the love interests in the finished game get.

Persona 4 was made within 2 years and there were a lot of changes made on the fly. For example (Midgame P4 spoilers)
Teddie and Naoto had their sexes switched mid-development, and the killer was originally a different person. (We don't know who it was, so if anyone tries to tell you different they're full of it.)

I was shocked to find out who the killer was. I literally would have never guessed it. And then...well, to find out even more crazy plot details. I honestly thought it was done after
Namatame

Just wondering, but did you get the true ending?

I looked up a spoiler free guide to getting the 'good' ending because prior to beating the game I heard there were multiple endings.
I went to Junes on the last day, talked to the gas station attendant, etc and went through the final (?) dungeon, and beat two forms of Izanami. I'm not sure if there's a better ending then the one I got. I thought I read that to get the best ending you had to max your social link with Marie, which I didn't do. I beat Adachi on the first available day to do so and was really mad that it skipped the rest of the week lol

Yeah,
you did the final dungeon, but you missed out on the dungeon in between and an epilogue to the True Ending for not maxing out Marie in December.

Completing the
Aeon social link
gives you an extra dungeon, and beating that yields a 15 minute epilogue.

EDIT: Man, I'm late on everything. Meia will have to replace me if I ever retire from... whatever it is people think I do.

Welcome! I personally would not like a cell shaded style myself, as I feel it would be too similar to Catherine. Also they haven't talked about gay romance or anything for matter. We literally know almost nothing about Persona 5 except what small talk about some of the themes of the game the devs did. Wait I forgot we know the you play as a chair this time :p

I guess some ideas for the next OT title
OT6: Kanji's gonna renovate this thread
OT6: A Golden Summer
OT6: Rise of Machines (From last OT name picking)
Not sure how you guys feel about it, but have the developers discussed implementing gay romances in 5?
No, but considering we have had a gay character, along with a gay romance option in Persona 2 with Jun Kurosu. It wouldn't be out of question that it could be something in Persona 5.
If your wondering who I'm talking about it's this guy here
Jun_Kurosu_ISP.png

I think he's one of the better gay characters if you ask me in Video Games or in media in general, mostly because while he is gay, it's not beaten over the head like some other characters are.

I would rather them to make it good instead of shoving it in just because.

I mean if we are talking about Japan gay romance is just cheap baits for slashfics, I mean they exist with it them

In fact I dare say that romance is not Persona's core strength, it's kinda flat on all iteration anyways.

It's funny because I hated Jun because I felt like every aspect of him was beaten over my head without merit. Did not like him even a tiny bit.

Note: His sexuality wasn't really beaten over the head, I guess, but his role as a love interest certainly was. "Oh Jun loves you SOOOOOOO MUCH, TATSUYA."

Tatsuya proceeds to pay no attention to Jun at all, and Jun wastes his entire role blathering about flowers and fucking zodiac symbols.

Eikichi was a better boyfriend than Jun.

I mean more of his sexuality when I say that, though i will agree with you on him as a love interest, he's pretty bad, along with from a story perspective it doesn't make much sense anyways.

I'm definitely down with the Tatsuya x Jun pairing (even if it's shoved down your throat) because it's a cute ship.

Plus, it's made even better in EP when
Tatsuya just super angsts over Jun forgetting about him.

Well then sure, I guess. The game doesn't make a big deal that he's gay. I just couldn't stand the in-your-face nature of the rest of his character. Or the way that it came off as in your face to me.

So, a male Rise?

EDIT:
They couldn't be less close if they tried.

Yeah... I just saw that trait and couldn't resist.

Also, out of curiosity, is there anything about Jun you'd consider stereotypical? (Not Shadow Kanji levels, mind you, just questionable)

Nothing comes to mind. He's fairly feminine, but I wouldn't say he falls under any particular gay stereotypes. Homosexuality is usually subjected to some fairly extreme stereotyping in Japan, so Jun's milder personality is somewhat of an anomaly.

Also, out of curiosity, is there anything about Jun you'd consider stereotypical? (Not Shadow Kanji levels, mind you, just questionable)

No, because Rise tells you she loves you. Everybody but Jun tells you how great a couple you and Jun make. The problem with Jun is he feels like the destined girlfriend character in a video game or movie whose only reason for being with the hero is because people say they should be together. I didn't think he and Jun had any chemistry, and I didn't even buy into the "Jun is our dear friend" stuff, for that matter. I felt too much was said about Jun being your friend and love interest, and not enough done to warrant it, as opposed to Eikichi, who does enough to warrant being Tatsuya's close friend, or Lisa, who proves her love for Tatsuya repeatedly.

As to finding anything stereotypical, I tend not to worry about that stuff in Persona games because I don't mind archetypes being employed if they're well executed. I didn't think he was a caricature of gay people (unless one wants to make a fuss about the flowers, I suppose, but I took that as more of the Tuxedo Mask variety) and more that I thought he was just like all those crummy girlfriends that have no chem with the hero.

Mind you, I'm not done with Eternal Punishment, so maybe now that both he and Tatsuya are characters there'll be something more substantial, there.

Step 2.

Read the Persona 2 plot summary on wikipedia.

Step 3.

Don't actually play Persona 2.

Is Persona 2 that bad? Wow
