We've seen about 10 seconds of Lucina's gameplay. There's really no way to possibly know.

More clones confirmed?
(Before a clone hate train begins, Sakurai equated that a whole new character and 6 clones take about the same amount of work. So it's not a terrible way of beefing up a roster.)

Pretty much lol. I need to reorganize my roster again.
Also, I wonder what Sakurai means by the physical abilities thing. Does she have literally the exact same properties as Marth, but all her moves are sweet spotted?

I wouldn't be surprised if there's more different than just "her sword hitbox is different," she seemed a lot swifter than Marth and the move she uses around 2:03 in the Robin trailer looks unique (probably an altered take on Marth's recovery move, less upwards pull but more verticality?)
So I wouldn't really assume Lucina is the exact same but with different hitboxes or anything.

Roy still has the tipper mechanic, just in reverse. Lucina completely doesn't have it at all.

but Roy uses the hilt for sweetspot and the rest of his sword is wet-noodle territory. that aint "balanced."

English game calls her Loo-see-nah, so you're not wrong.
Between Melee vets and cut Brawl characters, there's 7 clones from them alone (Roy, Dr. Mario, Young Link, Pichu, Dixie, Toon Zelda, Plusle & Minun). Plus maybe Tetra.
Inferring that Dixie is a slight clone of Diddy, Toon Zelda is a clone of Zelda, and Plusle & Minun is a clone of Pichu/Pikachu but doubled. Tetra could be a Sheik clone but I'd doubt it.
I think the likelihood of a 55 character roster is growing.

Sounded like that was referring to the sword, as in you don't have to bother getting just the tip to connect.

well yeah, but referencing controlling specifically (and not hitboxes) could mean moves could be faster, and if there's no l-canceling (right?) and you do a move near the ground, there may be less recovery. things just point to her being a faster marth

Yes.
Objectionable rudeness is just an alt of rudeness.
The slot debate is so dumb. They take 1/6th the workload, and the CSS is built to be easily, easily customizable.
What's the alt for rude?
No one will ever replace afoni.

Well from what Sakurai is implying, his attacks are pretty much Marth-like. The difference comes from where the power of the attacks come from.
Marth will probably be the more powerful one, but harder to handle as he will rely on the tip of the sword slashes for power. Lucina meanwhile will be less powerful, but can be a "beginner's Marth" because of better balance of power on the sword slashes.

I Honestly think Marth is being slept on.....but I see Lucina getting more Milage though.
But what if Sakurai is wrong and Chrom is playable and Lucina is his alt?

Nope. Alternates are the same character. Dark Pit wouldn't share the same exact moves as Pit. They would be colored differently and Alts don't do that. Like Doc. Mario. It's going to be another clone.
