Has it been confirmed shot down? I'm seeing varying reports, but the thread title might be a bit premature.

RIP to all the Victims sorry for their families.
Baffles me that civilian planes are allowed to fly in this warzone.

Can someone explain who the "Rebels" are? Are they Ukrainian citizens against Russians? How did they become militant?

Sorry, I havent been following

My god, this is absolutely horrifying! I feel sorry for all the families of everyone on board.

I can't believe this is happening to another Malaysian Airlines plane so soon after the other one went missing

If this got shot down then it had to be some military grade weapons as I doubt separatists could get their hands on high grade military weapons. (So the rumours of Russia shooting it down "could" be true"

But if this plane crashed then I personally think the Malaysian Airlines/Government need to retest every pilot...

2 planes in a year from the same airline company is messed up.

Just saying, how do you think they're still holding alot of those areas ?
They took over military bases and easily equipped themselves...

So every scenario might be possible, allthough I think it was them.
Putin wouldn't be so stupid, neither the Ukraine.

Let's not just jump to conclusions and point to WWIII like alot of people did here.

It's not pre-mature.

It's a logical conclusion based on the wide spread of wreckage. You don't get that from an engine/mechanical failure.

If there was an explosion on the plane while in the air, would the wreckage be similarly wide spread? Just curious. Can't believe someone would shoot down an airliner. I mean, really.

The evidence is mounting. All of the major news outlets are reporting that it was shot down.

The media is simply reporting what the Ukraine Interior Ministry said. No investigation has been done so we don't know for sure. People here are just connecting dots. I'm being cautious and exploring all possibilities.

There have to be consequences to this. You can't just shoot a civilian plane out of the sky, kill hundreds of innocent people, and walk away from this unscathed.

So this is either

1) Shot down by Ukraine
2) Shot down by Russia
3) Shot down by Rebel
4) Crash due to some other reason

I think in terms of possibility, #3 > #4 >>> #1 = #2
