Well, how many clone characters in fighting games have had their move-set completely revamped to the point you couldn't tell who their original inspiration was?
See...imagine this scenario. People LOVE Fox. But his moveset isn't necessarily the most faithful to his character. Let's say some new Star Fox games came out, a whole bunch of them, which gave Fox a distinct on-foot battle style. Sakurai for Smash 7 changes Fox to be more faithful to the source material. People would likely freak, because they're so used to how Fox plays.
There are people who main Ganondorf and, even if he sucks, and even if he isn't faithful, they like how the character controls. Changing Ganondorf radically to the point he plays completely different from how he does now would no doubt upset those who have stuck with Ganondorf for years through the iterations of Smash, and likely want him to stay basically the same, but improve in minor ways that make him a stronger fighter, but still retains his basic gameplay.
At least make the AT run at 60fps instead of 30fps
Also we all know that Mother Brain is the true leader of the Zebesian Space Pirates. Ridley is just a mere pawn in Mother Brains master plan

Charizard can so not too far off.
Maybe Dark Samus' assist is all the moves Sakurai could think of so instead of scrapping a character idea he just made a deluxe assist trophy.
I remember when assists were first announced for Brawl and everyone was happy because it allowed more characters to have a chance in the spotlight and now people act like they prevent characters from getting anywhere in Smash.

I kind of wonder. Factoring Prime in, it seems like she was only in charge of operations of the base on Zebes and Ridley actually had authority over the troops while both of them were under orders from some then unseen Space Pirate Command.
But we'll never know now~
That's what 'alt costumes' are this time around. Next game people will complain that characters are ONLY alt costumes.

I've already brought this up, but Charizard is far more cartoonish. "Human-like" eyes, round, chubby body, bright color scheme. He's like the polar opposite of Ridley despite both of them being "dragons".
Plus Charizard is a giant pet, more or less.

Yes to all three? I don't really see how he is any different than Bowser or Ganondorf in this case.
Anyway, since ZSS has been playable how much has her moveset changed? It's probably too much to hope for, but is it more similar to the much superior Project M moveset? Especially her dair and down special.

We still have a lot of things to work on for OT, so I don't think it will be ready by this Friday/Saturday so I would trying to have it up few days before release date in case if the stores sell the games early.

If it's just a confirmation of everything on the leaks, especially the roster, it won't be as crazy to reach up to thread 15 before JP release. But if we get one more surprise/deconfirmation ala Chrom/Lucina one by next week...yeah it won't stand a chance.

Now we await what Reyns fate is.
The real question is... does that info pop up in the japanese 3DS OT or in here... or both? OTs can be made a full week in advance, right? So... in 2 days? So unless we have a leak in the next two days, we won't get through OT 15 before 3DS OT.
That said, we'll get to 3DS OT 2 before actual japanese release

Prime 3 actually did have a Pirate Commander. Poor guy didn't put up much of a fight.

It'll be interesting to see what (if anything) they have on Shulk's custom moves. It seems like his stances function similarly to customs anyway, so if there's any character that simply doesn't have custom moves, it'd be Shulk.

Oh yeah, those small updates today where pretty nice across the board.
- slightly disappointing that Samus' alts are limited to colour swaps but it's also expected, love the Dark Samus nod with the final one.
- More Villagers is great though I think there could've been more variety in some respects, like hairstyles and colour for instance, sleepy eyes is neat though.
- Music updates were like a pair of safe mixes after the Green Greens and Try, Try Again combo. Wrath of the Reset Bomb is similar yet different, seems slightly more suited to brawling combat and looks to be taking a twist as the track fades out (why not just give us the whole song?). Area 6 is okay but I'd much rather have seen other SF64 tracks tackled since we already got Area 6 twice in Brawl, recently remixed in SF64 3D and that this remix is pretty by the numbers, the insertion of the command music towards the end was a bit odd, I only vaguely recall it.

Don't abandon hope dear brother! Lord Ridley will not dissapoint, you as the master of hype must herald his coming faithfully without a sliver of doubt!

I still kind of want to see a Ridley LP of Heavy Rain, where all he does is criticize it and get confused. The voice'd probably get old, though, and it's gotta be hell on Slowbeef's larynx.
Anyway, yeah, between that video and the fact that plenty of other more serious characters like Ganondorf, Ike, Snake, or Mewtwo have goofier animations (As well as characters that don't have many animations to go off of. This isn't Capcom, saying Phoenix Wright can't be in TvC/MvC3 because he's never had an animated walk cycle, then adding him into UMvC3 anyway; most of Little Mac's animations have been "punch," "block," "duck," and "run," and he seems to be doing just fine). Besides, who wouldn't want to see Ridley doing goofy things such as get Screen KO'd (Unless his wingspan's stretched out; I can see some complaints there), slip on a banana, or get hit hard enough to make his eyes bulge out ala Olimar.
Either way, overthinking or not, it's still strange to me that he's been teased for over a year without being shown. After how Sakurai just slapped fans of Dark Samus, the other feasible Metroid rep unless he's seriously thinking Anthony Higgs, maybe he's just being cruel, but that doesn't make sense. There's still slots on the roster, so I think he's a legitimate possibility.
