I also have that hard case backing for the 3DS XL. It is a cheap piece of shit but it does the job.

I will say though that even with it on Smash still feels uncomfortable to me because of the nature of the game and the 3DS. Circle pad and tiny ass face buttons really feel counter-intuitive to Smash, but the demo is still a blast.

Pretty sure I paid more for mine, but 2.50 isn't bad.

Two things though; There's no way to slot your stylus in/out, and also, removing the grip from the 3DS is also very difficult. So unless you're not planning on using the touch screen elements of a game for a while, be wary.

^This. Be careful when removing it, it locks the XL in extremely tight.

The Walmart bundle doesn't save any money, but I think its an indication that that Walmart, the biggest retailer in the U.S. expects there to be shortages of the game, so they're bundling it with amiiboos figures to move stock overall. I expect shortages of stock for the game come release time.

"more bundles than you can count that add stuff while raising the price" feat. Nintendo

(also does this bundle even save any money?)

Let's see.

(Prices are for Canada)

Game: 64,99
Amiibo: 13,99 (x3)
Total: 106.96
So you save about 7$ before the taxes.

Played a few sessions of the Smash 3DS demo.

Smooth 60 fps definitely is nice. However, the control scheme + controller are turrible. I cannot pull off any moves that I can normally do easily with a console controller. My eyes hurt from squinting at the tiny screens.

Definitely will get the Wii U version.

My friend and I played the demo for about an hour. At one point when we were both Link, I messed up which one of us was which, but I figure that's because I'm used to being Player 2.
However, at three separate occasions, the game slowed down, almost as if one of us had gotten the clock.

I'm guessing we'll get a Ness reveal sometime this week (he's unlocked at 10 VS matches yeah?)

I'm excited to see what all the hidden characters look like on WiiU.

So have there been major things that have been confirmed Wii U only? The only thing I know of is that some of the stages will be wii U only. Also of course you can use the Gamecube controller on it and not the 3ds version.

Nope.

Doing some research I now realize just how much of the Smash promotion up till now has been focused on the 3DS. Aside from stages we know little about what Smash Wii U will have that the 3DS version does not so I guess that's something to look forward to in these upcoming POTD weeks.

I hope so
mainly so Project M-U can happen, that way the characters that were cut & not being added back in as DLC can have another chance at Smash U.

Someone said the group wouldn't do Smash 4/Project M U since they want to stick with Project M.

As a person who has P:M...I agree with Ice. They robbed the stages of their charm, and while the novelty of "Yay melee" and Mewtwo and Roy is enjoyable...overall, it's pretty meh and very buggy.
Also honestly feel like characters are too drastically changed in their playstyles that some are downright gimmicky.
I mean, it's enjoyable, but I really don't like it personally. Though I feel like I try really hard to find a character that I enjoy, and I only stuck with Diddy.

I disliked Project M. The only parts that appealed to me were the awesome costumes and the overall speed, but everything else is pretty meh, reasons include what has been stated above.

This is awesome.

I really love the aesthetic that Duck Hunt brings to Smash. That "western cartoon" feel.

That is the EXACT feel I get from Duck Hunt as well. The way the dog squashes and stretches like an actual cartoon character with its facial animations feels super toony, and I can't get enough of it.

Man been playing the demo nonstop since it came out. Loving megaman and dont understand the hate. saying he sucks and sakurai didnt do him justice. from what i played he has one of the best if not best edge guarding ability. fast down tilt approach that dodges projectiles if timed right, and gets in quick, also a great air approaches.

He kinda reminds me of a long range sonic. you get in an out doing as much damage as you can. all the while pelting them keeping them annoyed. Sakurai truly did a great job making me feel like i playing megaman when using megaman in smash lol

I am very disappointed with the demo.

I don't like how the stick feels, plus it is hard to move in a given direction just a little bit. It's like your character either flinches or runs 8 feet. I'd rather use d-pad.

I don't like how pushing up on the stick makes you jump, I'd rather just have the jump button. Maybe this is a part where I just hate smash, I dunno, but I remember it feeling better on consoles.

The layout for jump button and the two attacks is super awkward to me for some reason. It would make 1000% more sense to have B and Y the attack buttons and A for jump, but you know Nintendo has been on this horrible vertical layout for DS controls in all their games forever now because they are so obsessed with the A/B labels.

It's hard to see what you're doing and I'm playing on an XL. Maybe the game just isn't well suited for handheld.

Aside from the generally loosey-goosey feel of the controls (maybe I'm too used to real fighters?) it makes my hands cramp after a while.

I dunno guys, maybe I should pick up Fire Emblem or something instead.

Edit: For sure, if you can't change it to d-pad for movement, B/Y for attacks and A for jump, I'm not getting it.

You can change the control layout in the real version. You can also remove the Up-stick for jump. The control feel the same as the others Smash games, not more or less loosey. I'm playing on a normal 3DS and the only thing I have a problem seeing is some of the items, sometime I can't see exactly what is the item I got.

It started dawning on me how soon after the 3DS version releases the Wii U version will be relasing... October 3rd to November 21st (speculated) is just over a month, after all.

Well I'm Canadian, deal with it.
You still can't justify a savings in Canadian dollars when the price you're quoting is American dollars, though.

It's like saying England has it good, because they're only paying £39.99 for a game when us Yanks are paying $59.99! That's a whole savings of 20! Except if you did the conversions, £39.99 is roughly $64.95, so it's more like a surcharge of $4.96.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
These next few weeks I'm interested in seeing how quickly he'll transition into full on WiiU mode

Pic of the Day: Now that the shitty 3DS Version is out and you suckers bought it hook, line, and sinker, here's a pic of the Ice Climbers, exclusive to the real Wii U Version.
