This, along with destiny will be keeping me busy for a long time. It's going to be an awesome year. I'm going to give it as much publicity as I can even as a small time streamer. Can't wait!

Nonsense. If the video-game industry fails it will be because publishers continue to produce mostly mediocre or sub-par games while mismanaging budgets way beyond the scope of their target audience's ability or willingness to generate the necessary revenue via early full retail price purchases. If, on the other hand, the industry reverts to producing more reasonably budgeted games that deliver consistent quality the games *will* sell more than enough to make a nice profit and keep the industry afloat.

Buying games at full price with zero knowledge as to the quality of the game is foolish and asking to get burned. 9 out of 10 games released are worth nowhere close to full retail price.

It's not my responsibility to take one for the team by buying shitty games. It's up to devs/publishers to convince gamers to pay full price by producing high quality games that don't nickle-and-dime us with microtransactions and DLC that should have been in the game to begin with.

Edit: That said, this game does *look* good and I'm cautiously optimistic about it. If early reviews are solid I may pick it up in the first week. Otherwise, like any other game that fails to deliver, I'm totally down with the idea of waiting for this to hit bargain bin status.

I'm not sure where to post this, but in the current Warner Bros. publisher weekend on the UK Steam store there seems to be a weird pricing error for the Shadow of Mordor 'Premium Edition'. It includes the base game and the season pass, which cost £29.99 and £13.99 respectively (so £43.98 combined) but the bundle costs £50.39 for some inexplicable reason. Weird.

It flew under my radar as I'm not a fan of rpg but the footage I've seen definitely got me. Do we know how much has been cut in the PS3 version? I don't have a PS4 yet and I'm not planning to buy one soon (I wouldn't get Shadow of Mordor on day one regardless, but I think that by the time I get a PS4 I could completely forget about this)

Last-gen is being developed by someone different, right? It's also coming out much later (Nov 18/21 instead of Sept 30/Oct3)

My only concern at this point is that this game will get repetitive without any major plot development. Im a sucker for a good story to go with this seemingly awesome gameplay.

Understandable, but the story looks great in any sort of peeks we get, and it has a great lead writer and great voice actors with performance capture. I'm really excited about that aspect actually.

Me too. They have the lead writer from Red Dead so the story should be at the very least decent, but I hope they introduce some variety in the mission design at some point so it's not just "hunt these 5 warchiefs" in each zone.

Me too ,i can deal with light narrative and repetitive missions (like ac) but it becomes really hard when itt reachs second son level (really hope it won't be the case)

Does anyone know if any other limbs can be severed? I see tons of flying heads but no arms/legs/torsos. Just a morbid curiosity for me.

Publishers need to stop having games go live on psn at midnight PST. It makes no sense for me to preload if going to walmart at midnight is faster if you're on the east coast.

Michael has been great. I can't phatom how he can be so positive having to deal with those two twitch douches. Compared to them, his orcs are well-mannered gentlemen.

Plenty of decapitations, punctures, immolations, skull-crushes, falls to death and orcs being eaten alive but no, there's no dismemberment.

Thanks, no big deal. After seeing that AMA and now this new stream on twitch I'm totally ready for my pre order to arrive. Thought about PC but, screw it, PS4 it is.

Still a bit concerned about the environments but I'm sure everything will be okay.

Christ I want to know if this game delivers. The videos I've seen are so sweet, but the rational side of me thinks there's no way it can all come together as well as I'm imagining

I may be in the wrong, but I honestly think a Batman game with the nemesis system would have been pretty fun if done right.

I understand why they did it, but the Tolken-verse doesn't appeal to me as an interesting video game premise.

Ah man, sounds like I missed something awesome. I couldn't handle listening to those other two dudes any longer and shut off the stream.

I'd be interested in seeing the story mission.

Also, do we know how they fit in with all the "systemic nemesis warchief stuff" ? it's like sometimes you do linear missions and sometimes open objectives ? do you need to do one type to unlock the other ?
