Man now that I've played it for 3 hours straight I really can't believe that anyone could give this a 5/10.

if it pisses you off, just think of the poor IT/Dev guys staying late up night trying to fix it

been in the IT support business, it sucks for both parties

Don't feel sorry for them at all. It's their fault for not testing their capabilities for a multiplayer well in advance. It's sad that they delayed this game one year yet still can't even pull off a smooth launch even BEFORE they launch the PS+ version.

This game is primarily a multiplayer game which is what will keep it alive, yet right now those of us who can play it are forced to enjoy it as a singleplayer game only.

Damn. If only they tested it. Why didn't they think of that...

They did test it. And don't say 'obviously not well enough!'.

Lucky!

Are you a time traveler, the game came out yesterday.

actually, its 5 days lol. I got the game earlier than the rest "check history" and the online was friggin working till the last 2 days. I am a club owner of level 8 already and I am level 26 already.

I blame you people for killing the servers lolol

Got on the servers once and applied to gaf club. Heres to hoping it got through:p Love this game so far and even my gf is hooked for once.

For those of you with the T500, what are you impressions of the FFB?

IIRC it's set to 70% by default.
Feels fantastic to me. You can really feel every bump, slip, slide, rumble. They make the FFB sing with the multitude of physical functions built into it.
It's an especially good feeling when you pull off nice drifts by feel of the wheel

Why not? Its exactly the right thing to say.

This current generation of online services has sucked dehydrated donkey balls, and just adds more fuel to the flame that an always-online mandatory games-as-service stuff has a *lot* of wrinkles to iron out.

There is no excuse for a game whose heart is a connected experience to have these kinds of issues.

Destiny seemed to be the only online infrastructure truly ready to go at release. A few hiccups here and there but it was ready for the deluge. Its probably the only smooth sailing launch I'm aware of.

Great. They did an amazing job on that front in my opinion.

The steering is also 1:1, so whatever movement you make is perfectly replicated on screen in cockpit view.

Yup, they said that they worked directly with Thrustmaster and it shows. It certainly isn't on the same level as some PC sims, but for an arcade racer it's amazing.

I made a video of the Norsk Hill Climb if anyone wants to see some wheel gameplay (T500RS).

There's a pretty cool recovery at 2:06 if you don't want to watch the whole thing...

They sad that this game has no soul, but I saw so many love and soul that developers put in to this game that it's hard for me to stop playing(last rasing game was GT5). They sad that the sound is bad, but I've heard the best sound in rasing games to date, or they expected that VW Beetle will roar like muscle car? They sad that visuals not as good, but sometimes I need to remember miself that Im playing the game, not watching racing event. They sad that penalty system is bad, but use it wisely and it will help you. And AI is not bad either, it it just sometimes simply better than you and they not act like are sisies. I love this game!!!

What an immense fuck up this is. I absolutely love the game, but what is going on with Sony/Evo? I mean... the game had a delay... the director changed... the game released missing crucial features, and if that wasn't enough, the social-centric features of the title don't work. Oh, the PS+ version didn't come out at the expected date either.

Seriously. This is beyond ridiculous.

Was this posted as yet? Motion sensing controls on DriveClub.

Looks great. I wonder if they'll re-release that ps3 wheel (for motion control only) specifically for this?

when this fucking servers will be up ? its been 3 days already. this is very annoying and Its really pissing me off :/

Be grateful you can at least play it and are not from UK getting fucked!..:)

Yay, only 3 more hours until the digital version unlocks a track that isn't the crappy looking starter track...

Lucky you're not from UK. Gutted but enjoy :)

I do often think about Destiny's launch. Aside from a few hiccups it was flawless, my friends and I were playing on the first night. I don't know how they pulled it off.

That's some good smooth driving with some scary moments there and there, nice :)

Think of the experience Bungie has with online play and networking, thanks to all their Halo MP.

I know Motorstorm games had online play but those hardly saw massive player counts, even at launch. This is probably uncharted terroritory for Evolution.

You are privy to their test plans and how all the network communications of the game works then are you?

How do you know they didn't do what would be considered to be everything that needed to be done?

Fact is no one does, so no one is qualified to make any judgement as to if it was or was not good enough.

Couldn't resist anymore and bought it. I was quite surprised by the lack of presentations when I first booted up the game, then after the first two races I realized the game was still downloading chunks of data. Ehehe.

The driving reminds me of PGR which is good. Veeery good.
