DRIVECLUB |OT| Cloudy with a Chance of Jaw Drops

Yesterday I was playing a race where it was right about to rain or storm, and the sky had this orange/yellow glow.. everything looked like pea soup. They really, really nailed the lighting in this game. I've never seen it captured so well in a game before.

I'm worried that the actual weather needs to be patched in... I want it now!

God I hate the corner and collision penalties. Why are they even in an arcade racer? Especially one with such aggressive AI.

Drivclub online has comeback to...

Anyways, got online finally and had my first multi race with my only car in my garage.

Came in 6th.

Made a club. "2fast4jackker"

Customized my logo. Unlocked 2 more cars that are meh.

Overall, the game is freaking gorgeous. Handles like a champ if you have racing game experience and reflexes. So glad I bought it versus waiting for ps+

Online in so cal

So what is this shit? I got it on Tuesday and was never able to go online with it until today. So what I do now is play this angry birds like collecting stars single player and throw it on eBay after that ASAP.

If you're just sitting on the paint job screen, not pressing any buttons, the hud will eventually turn off and a camera will pan around the car at various angles.
Car porn is one fetish I don't have but I'm an open-minded guy.

I hope the new tracks are from different parts of the world. Would love to see some new environments.

Speaking of tracks, doesn't the DLC schedule say a track is being released this month? Wonder what it could be.

There will be a new location and additional tracks to existing locations.

Damn was able to get online and kicked off five times in a row, even managed to created a club (Rollin Thunders) but got kicked before sending invites and now I can't get on again. How come I didn't get an update file yet?

Where do we download this? I cant find it.. unless it doesn't apply to preorder for PS+ edition?
That's the one I bought and it prompted me to download the 3 car unlocks but when you try you just get an error message. It's in my add-on content in the library but still gives an error or you try again. The free car downloads fine.

I hope the game sales doesn't suffer too much from this absolute mess of a launch. Game is fantastic so it would be a shame if them really dropping the ball on this launch hurts it's chance of being a successful ip.

It really is, I'm having a lot of fun even in offline, so I imagine it'll be even better when I can connect.
I'm loving the clean presentation style and just pounding round the road tracks for lap after lap trying to improve my time.

That must have gone through QA in highest priority (2 patches in 5 days and it's Saturday). When I think about those crunches, I'm happy I didn't get into gamedev like many of my friends.

I feel really bad for the guys at Evolution :/
I mean they wanted to bring us a great experience, which plenty of us experience already.
But they get so much bullshit for the stuff that went admittetly horribly wrong, but damn.
I bet they didn't sleep much the past week

I haven't, trying to download them just results in an error message.
Thanks, that was what I was expecting to be honest. As I said I'm waiting until the sort stuff so there's no desperate hurry as much as I love what I played. Every now and again I boot it up and as soon as I start the first race I get the error message if it's not online so I just quite the game. Bit of a shame they've had so many technical issues with it but the racing itself is fantastic for me. I know everybody has different opinions but quite a few of the reviews make no sense at all to me.

It's strange some of the non-technical issues with the game seem to be the most basic of things that are standard for driving games, things I'd like them to sort and they probably will do as they do seem to be listening.
  • One factory colour for cars? What the hell.
  • Avatar customisation, it's not a major thing but like the factory colours they seem to have put a little work into t as possible.
  • It would be nice to be able to choose a name for my avatar or just use my real name.
  • Replays are needed, maybe it'll come with the photomode? I suppose there could be technical reasons stopping this but hopefully not.
That really is it for me, simple stuff really.

Corner pens are fine with me, its collisions against AI drivers thats way too arbitrary.

I don't mind the use of corner penalties, but they seem inconsistent. I can clip the apex of a hairpin and get a penalty, or I can cut a big chunk on a different corner and get nothing. Also we should be used to clipping kerbs and apexes, and you don't have a clear indication of what is 'too much'.

If you removed them entirely you wouldn't mess up leaderboards, the courses are still the same, you are just providing more leeway so times would come down - but anyone can still race on a level playing field.

Is it the number of wheels rule? Like, anything more than 2 tires over the line and it's a penalty? I can't understand why it wouldn't be, if they're bothering to enforce it.
