No idea. He told me he ordered it and that it was 200 on ebay.

Well that was fun briefly. Excitement got the better of me :lol first email should've been the giveaway.

I imagine a swift refund coming his way.
He seems excited :lol

I'm going to save up and try getting/building a decent PC. PS4 and PC is where it's at.

I really enjoyed it, put in ~85 hours. Beat the game yesterday after a 10+ hours long night session. I was so engrossed in it, I couldn't quit. Good (old) times. That being said, it has a lot of combat balancing issues and some combat mechanics that will need to be revised in Wasteland 3 to make it feel more strategic. The building blocks are all there, they just need to add some party formation managing options and make the encounters (at least the key ones) more challenging. It turned out to be too easy on 'normal' for me in the end, although much depends on how you set up your party. There are also quite a few (non game-breaking, but still annoying) bugs in the final part of the game. They squashed a lot of them already, but I'd still recommend waiting for the next patch, which is rumored to include New Game+. Shouldn't be too long.

Has anyone imported stuff from Amazon US to any other country (specifically the UK) before? Any customs tax? Reason I'm asking because B:TAS vol 3 and 4 haven't come out in the UK.

There's certain thresholds you get hit with customs at. If the goods you order fall below that you should be fine.

Just having a look at the HMRC site:

"If you order or purchase goods other than alcohol, tobacco, perfume and toilet water from a country outside the EU then you have to pay:

Customs Duty on goods with a value that exceeds £135
import VAT on goods with a value that exceeds £15

Note that on all goods from outside the EU, Customs Duty is waived if the amount of duty calculated is £9 or under."

So I guess you'd pay some import VAT on it (prob included in the price). I've ordered quite a few books and graphic novels from Amazon's US site over the years and not been hit with anything extra.

Soccer to me is such a British word that I was surprised to find out how much they hated the use.

I'm obviously not a native speaker, but it always sounded to me that British people pronounced the "r" in words much more strongly than Americans, and when I found out they call cops "coppers", it was an "of course" moment that they would abbreviate Association Football as Assoc, then then add the "-er" just for kicks and call it "soccer". Or so says history on the matter anyway.

*shrugs*

Where I'm from it has always been "futbol", and soccer is hardly used by anyone. Help me understand bros.

The truth is, if you give a shit about people calling it soccer or football, you need to find something more important in life to care about.

However if you say gifs as JIFS, then you are just wrong. But there's the difference, saying JIF is being a weird freak. While soccer vs football is all #culture

Looks like interstellar is crap. No surprise.

I've only read the Guardian's review. It seems to be dry, boring and plot-hole ridden but very good looking and with an epic feel, according to that one. RT score of 69% is indeed unexpected.

Never trust early movie reviews

They are usually on the positive side tho, especially for big name movies. Early negativity is a bit more worrying sign than just early universal praise. Whatever the case, the appropriate motto should be "never trust any reviews", or at least "never trust just the scores" and read the damn text.

I'm not a Nolan fan either way. I feel he tries way too hard to make his movies seem smart, to their own detriment even, and in the end the stumble upon the smaller things... but I've seen and mostly enjoyed everything he's put out.

If it is as serious and boring as that review paints it, I can see how sitting through 3 hours of it can be shit, even if it is pretty tho.

All things considered, the script for something like Gravity could be considered pretty shit too, but that movie was a ride. Cuarón knew how to build it up and release and was aware that the spectacle and performances were more important than all else.

Nolan just seems to me like a guy with a pretty long stick up his butt. On top of that, I guess what gives me that impression the most are his die hard fans. The guy is a smart filmmaker, no doubt about it, but some of them pretend he is crafting transcendental cinema, while he is mostly churning out not so dumb blockbusters. I remember a comment here on GAF during the inital announcement where one guy declared it would be "another cult classic for movie buffs like him". He said that without a hint of irony too. I was like, fuck off.

No Totti????

FIFA continue to be a joke. They might as well just give it to the guy who scores the most goals. God knows they want give it to the best all round footballer, one P.Lahm.
