Yuck, should have kept MM3D as a final surprise...

Honestly, X seems to me less exciting each time i see it, it really misses the same atmoshpere Xenoblade had.

Splatoon on the other hand is fun-fucking-tastic.

The combat seems exactly the same as first xenoblade so my hype is gone. I wasn't a big fan of that combat system

*Nintendo unveils the Wii U Game Pad, and talks about the interesting gameplay uses you can get out of it*

*Fatal Frame V is released, that utilizes the Wii U Game Pad is those unique ways, with an established fan-base in NA*

*Nintendo refuses to localize Fatal Frame V for those NA fans*

-_-

Yeah it's a shame we never seem to get the good stuff anymore. FFV seems like a no-brainer.

that was pretty meh but was exactly what they said it was...so I can't bitch too much.

MM3D and Splatoon look ace

Basically. Started off with good hype, ended with a fucking good trailer for Splatoon.

Still not feeling X, but Kirby is looking fun for me and the rest looks good so I'm okay.

Pretty solid direct. Majors mask 3ds, all amiibos compatible with like everything. Mk8 dlc release date, duck hunt trailer, splatoon looks amazing, multiplayer Kirby, and indies looking good.

Eh, MM3DS was a good reveal with a good release window, and Kirby in February was nice, other than that pretty meh.

No N3DS information, and for Wii U we got Kirby and then Splatoon for first half 2015? Where is Mario Party, Mario Maker, Yoshi? :/

Also "targeting 2015" for Xenoblade doesn't leave me too confident it will release. And once upon a time this was a 2014 game...

Did anyone from Sega work on Splatoon? Because shit, that's straight up Jet Squid Radio.

No real surprises outside MM3D, but they had plenty of new footage for their up coming games so this direct was pretty good.

2nd quarter of 2015? Urgh. My prediction:

January - Nothing
February - Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
March - Nothing
April - Yoshi's Woolly World
May - Nothing
June - Splatoon

Q2 starts in April, so it could be April, May or June they never release retail games in June, I say May

Hmmm, sounds like Xenoblade will be a late 2015 title, unfortunately. Hope it doesn't slip to 2016. I was hoping for a release date or maybe in what season it would come out (Spring, Summer). Welp...

EDIT: Oh, Spring in Japan... Summer here is being too optmistic? I hope not.

Majoras Mask 3D is something I'm really happy about. The Mario/Luigi costumes in MH4 look good too.

Project STEAM and Kirby look OK, but nothing I'm very excited about. If I'm bored at the time I might pick them up.

The rest is kind of meh tbh. I'm not sure how well they expect Splatoon to sell, I can't determine who the audience for it is really is. The xenoblade stuff looked kind of boring to me, the combat is not what I expected based off of early trailers. Oh well.

Quite good direct, quite good.

Even more amped for Splatoon than I was before. Looking really off-the-wall.

MM fans are finally happy, I'm sure lol.

And the MK8 DLC coming about as soon as I expected, but still can't wait.

Duck Hunt VC was a surprise, but I suppose that makes sense considering, lol.

Solid overall.

EDIT: Oh shit, right, I knew I was forgetting something. Reno looks vast and gorgeous all around.

Splatoon looks really inventive and I love the whole style. I'm glad they are using the mobility stuff in light platforming. Not digging the enemies though.

Xenoblade looks amazing as always (just look at all the people in the city). The targeting 2015 thing is crazy though. Xenoblade was released in 2010 and the game was going to be released in 2014 in Japan early last year. I wonder if Japan can a more concrete release date.

Also Super surprised at Kirby. Unlike Wooly World and Mario Maker that game wasn't listed as even first-half of the year. Weird.

Welp. I got Majora 3D being announced and Splatoon stuff right... *shrug* Of course it woulda been an Amiibo Blowout.

Yea, and like people said before...had we not known about the Duck Hunt character in Smash, that would have been pretty crazy too.

Splatoon looked so good, honestly I thought nearly everything in the stream did, especially Kirby and Captain Toad.

Holy shet at Captain Toad!
Holy friggin shet at Splatoon! Game is shaping up murderously.

Nice direct. Surprised and delighted Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is coming out so soon and it's good to see Splatoon having a single-player campagin.

Not...so sure how I feel about the modern civilization themes in Xenoblade X, but I'm sure it'l integrate well.

Only thing I outright didn't like was the Sonic Boom Streetpass. Who asked for that?

I pretty much have the exact opposite of your opinions.

I think X looks awesome. Can't wait for that. Not very interested in Splatoon though...

That was a super good Direct. But you know what? I'm glad it's over-- because it just means we're getting closer to Directs that will feature Zelda U and Star Fox. Still, really good shit, Majora's Mask 3D is a great announcement, the Xenoblade footage was very nice... can't complain. Good stuff. Only disappointment is no Smash U demo, but whatever, the game is almost out.

Saw some Commander Video disrespect in here, Bit.Trip Runner is a classic and the sequel is amazing, screw you guys.

Not to mention, Core, Beat, Flux and Fate.
Void sucks.

Not as good as the "50 things" Smash direct, but damn

  • Majora's Mask 3DS
  • MK8 tracks look fantastic and are coming sooner than expected
  • Splatoon single player, since I'm not that hardcore into multi
  • Kirby, Xenoblade, and Smash still looking good
  • Some more amiibo info

That's at least an 8/10 direct in my book.

It was nice. Didn't show off many new games or any data on Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei, but it was nice.

Xenoblade X still not looking very interesting to me, and I had my fill of Smash Bros. 10 years ago, but Splatoon is looking MUCH better, if it has decent depth to the multiplayer I will definitely be picking it up. That Kirby Rainbow Curse game was also looking a bit better, I didn't get the Kirby or Yoshi games on 3DS but this one I might.

Captain Toad, Mario Kart 8 tracks, and the Majora Remake I would have been sold on without any further info needed.
