this is about quality and spending your money. Had there only been the xbox one version of GTAV then it wouldnt matter, but since people have options then it only makes sense to go with the better one if its available to you.. once thats over you just enjoy your game.

Thanks Eurogamer for telling me what should affect my purchasing decision.

It's still funny how this was a pretty significant deal back when it was Red Dead on the 360/PS3, but now that the shoe is on the other foot, suddenly it's fine to just wear sandals.

It's visuals that are present on one console and not present on another. Personally I'm glad this is a thing because recently it's been largely perceived that running at the same resolution = parity, which is not the case at all.

These articles are very useful for people who have both consoles. I'm always going to go with the better version and GTA on PS4 looks to win here.

Despite having a game shared version on X1 (haven't downloaded it yet) I still purchased the Ps4 version for the reasons talked about in the DF thread.


If people think these discussions/issues aren't relevant to them there is little point commenting or even opening these threads.

I think it's the way they went about it that deserves kudos. No "gimping" of either version's major features (res, fps, main effects), just a paring back of certain graphical areas to keep the two running well and in the main, the same. It's the way it should be done.

Truth be told it was a lot easier to compare back in the day.
You wouldn't need a DF for anything, it was obvious the better versions.

Getting more difficult these days. The Xbone being 1080p is the biggest surprise. I would have bet on 900p.
