Street Fighter 5 for PS4 & PC teaser trailer

Nice trailer. PS4 console exclusive is a huge get for Sony. I can't see every version of SFV being exclusive though, unless it sells well enough on PS4.

In america yes. In Japan, arcades are still huge and a major source of revenue for fighting games over there.

Are they still really "huge"? I'm sure the Japanese arcade scene is a shell of it's former self as well considering how many of the big arcade names barely make new machines.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
Pretty disgusting of Sony to pay for exclusivity.
I was wondering when you will show up and there's no evidence yet that Sony paid for it exclusivity it's just speculation at this point

This is HUGE. Let's see if Sony can do better than MS and talk about specifics of exclusivity up front unlike MS with Tomb Raider announcement.

Looking forward to tomorrow for more megatons.

And the PS4 sold like shit in Japan.

Because both Sony & Japanese 3rd party publishers have done a piss-poor job of trying to convince Japanese gamers to buy a PS4, especially when Japanese 3rd party publishers keeps having their games being cross-gen towards either PS3 & PS4, PS4 & PS Vita, or PS3/PS4/PS Vita.

This may now be changing this upcoming year, due to Japanese 3rd party publishers now taking PS4 more seriously (as well as Sony taking Japan more seriously). I've said this before, & I'll say it again...Sony & Japanese 3rd party publishers need to make their future games PS4 exclusive if they want Japanese gamers to buy the system. No PS3 versions, no PS Vita versions.

Games like Bloodborne, Disagea 5, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III, & now this game are a fresh start (Japanese gamers won't care about Xbox One versions, because Xbox in general isn't very popular in Japan, anyway).

Well I guess Sony has finally stopped being complacent...

Since when?

Haha this thread is moving at lightning speed, not to mention so much salt.
I was literally shocked when I saw this, was hoping for GG3rd art style/direction tbh though.

"Exclusively on PS4 and PC"

Granted however, The SF4 reveal didnt mention any platforms at all.

My point was that I don't think I've ever seen a trailer from any such event promote "Also coming to Arcades" or "Exclusively to PS4, PC & Arcades". I just don't expect that much from 30 odd seconds of a trailer at a console specific event

No that proves my point Dead Rising 2 did come to PS3 and Monster Hunter started on PS2 and was exclusive to PS2 and PSP (with the exception of Monster Hunet Frontier for PC in Asia at the time) before switching to Nintendo Cosonles I'm just saying that Capcom sporadically changing hats like this is not new.

Yeah, they also went Dreamcast for RE Code Veronica debut and Gamecube for RE4

The salt and tears in this thread are glorious.

I freely admit that I hate MS and that I would be happy if they were out of the console market. They are trash and they treat their customers like trash (unless they don't have enough market share, then they kiss your ass until they regain market share then proceed to bend you over again).

I would much rather have Nintendo or Sony dominate the console market.

I see that those games came to PS2 before PC and eventually XBox, but I'm not seeing anything to indicate Sony paid anything to make "late" ports happen. Can you provide me with a link? <3

I should keep that page bookmarked, lol.

During these meetings, Deering and Reeves would offer incentives in exchange for exclusivity. These included a reduction in the platform fee, marketing support and new-generation dev kits.

"The last meeting of the day was with [Take-Two boss] Kelly Sumner," says Deering. (Reeves doesn't recall this being set up as an official meeting, by the way, but just "a few beers in the evening".)

"We picked up something called State of Emergency, which I don't think would have been on Xbox anyway. Then I said, 'What else have you got?'

"And they said, 'Well, we've got this Grand Theft Auto game... I suppose we could do a deal on that.'"

"Our technical people had said GTA III was not bad. It was innovative, but not a monster. I had just heard it was good. So I said, 'OK.'"

The precise details of the deal have never been revealed but according to Reeves, "It was remarkably cheap."

I hope Sony didn't buy this as exclusive. That would be a horrendous waste of money. It's not like Cacpom wouldn't have released it on PS4 anyway. So really, this is pretty shitty. It achieves nothing except to anger fans that will now not be able to play it on an Xbox.

Ok I thought about it a bit more. Why would Sony allow a PC version then? Can't understand that.

Maybe cause Sony didn't have shit to do with this, not directly. They don't own the SF license, they technically can't tell Capcom what to do with it's IP.

What tehy can do however is lend Capcom some money and ask for them for console exclusivity for a specific amount of time. Cause anyone who thinks this won't ever hit the Xbox One is cra cra.

So when was this supposed to be revealed again?

We don't know if this is a Bayonetta 2 situation or a Titanfall's.

Are you seriously suggesting that Capcom couldn't afford to make a new iteration in their own IP?
So who is funding RER2 and REMake HD if Capcom are suddenly strap for cash? And the PC version of SF5 is coming because....

Pretty clear it's either Sony paying to keep the game off the X1 or this is some bullshit announcement/marketing exclusive. Stop trying to make excuses.

Oh yeah I completely forgot about RE that just reinforced my point even more

It cements the next gen tournament standard platform.

Well, except for forward looking MLG that decided on XBone at launch for money reasons.

Why should we believe you over Ono himself, are you saying he is lying?

I have both xb1 and ps4...there is no comparison. The ps4 controller feels cheap.

Really? I have both also and could not disagree more. The DS4 is my preferred controller for just about every genre and learning combos in Killer Instinct was excessively frustrating thanks to the XB1 dpad.

Anyone saying he looks like he did in SFIV is tripping that is straight up Third Strike Ryu.

Yeah, a lot of people in this thread seriously believe that for whatever reason.

So Ono was lying when he flat out said SF V isn't being made yet due to lack of funding?
