Is the character handling something like in LIMBO? Or is it responsive like in traditional sidescrollers?
Playing LIMBO was pain and suffering for me thanks to floaty character handling.
It would be very saddening if it's like that because game looks very interesting.

Though I haven't played Limbo in years, I would say yes, the character handles similarly to that game or Trine like I mentioned before and is not precise like Mario games or Super Meat Boy for example.

In the end the platforming is not that challenging and the checkpoints are quite forgiving.

Checked TF2 but there doesn't seem to be anything.
The only DLC that is listed is the "Gear-up pack"

Thanks. That would've pushed me over the edge but 9€ after not liking what I read in a lot of reviews.... I'll wait for 5 without the season pass.

I wanna impose this rule where you guys cant talk about the new lara croft game till I have money to buy it mmmkay

But how committed are you to us and Steam? Sold your 3DS yet? No? Clearly not committed enough I'd say!

Isn't this kind of similar across Valve games? DOTA got the explanation that there would be an engine overhaul of sorts, which suggests source 2. Perhaps other games will slowly be moved over as well, in the hopes that they can maintain them for longer, and more easily than via Source. Maybe...

I don't really play any other Valve games like I play TF2, so I can't really say one way or the other. An engine shift would be welcome just to make the game more attractive to new players, but I feel like without new official maps or weapons, it's going to be harder to hold onto old hands more than once or twice a year.

Weapons I understand since they have to be balanced carefully, but I have NO IDEA why Valve doesn't approve more maps. I played on custom servers all the time and there are at least 30 complete and tested maps floating around that would add more variety to the official servers.

Were looking at a 100gb download then.
MP3 was huge.

The big size of MP3 was because of the massive amounts of movie files .

As far as i know all the cutscenes of GTA5 are done ingame which should lower the size considerably .

GTA4 sits a 16.5 GB. i would be surprised if the file size will be that much higher (20 GB max i bet )

RPS is really making me wanna play Neo Scavenger

it's like their favorite game ever by now

I got it for a dollar and only played on a very early state. Think im going in

I played it around the same time I guess, and I didn't really know what was going on, I died quite quickly - but I like the premise and know it will probably be great if I put the time into it.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
So the sale's starting next Thursday, huh?

Gonna have to beef up the ES servers by then I guess.

Trine was alright to me and if platforming really isn't any challenge I'll pick it up next time it goes on sale.

is adventure time the nameless kingdom any good? not many impressions of it. also has anyone seen those card prices for that game? jesus, they're expensive. I don't even want to see the foil price. i guess thats what happens when theres only a little bit of people with the game. I wanna know if its any good or not to pick it up for my vita.

I think GTA V's console version is around 50 GB, and if PC gets better textures or something, it's even bigger.

From what I've heard it's better than the previous Adventure Time games, I think this one is basically just Zelda.

Hah, I wasn't really suggesting it would. Just that everyone else seems to be doing so. I really do fear you're right though, I'm getting tired of Valve focusing on competitive games so damn much though. I just want something that's sodding fun and hopefully gorgeous. Hopefully it's a purdy left 4 dead, but... Hopefully it's also competent and full of great gamemodes and some more lovely story bits.

I mean, it's hard enough juggling competitive Dota 2 and CS:GO, I'd not be able to keep up with L4D3 aswell, lol.

Dota is thriving, CS is having its renaissance, there are hints that TF2 is getting a competitive mode. Really, Valve have gone all-in on eSports and competitive scene. There's no reason to doubt in my mind that L4D3 won't have something as well.

I had held off on updating nvidia drivers for a while since I wasnt playing anything and today I did and now Dead Rising 3 runs like garbage

guess im not finishing it

Sorry to post this here and not in the Idlemaster thread but that one seems dead, and it's still tangentially Steam related...

I tried loading up Idlemaster only to be told the cookie data doesn't match (which is probably on me seeing as I recently changed my Steam password.) The documentation tells me I need to copy the content from the "sessionid" cookie but looking through my steamcommunity cookies, nothing's labelled sessionid. Little help please?

Microsoft is looking for new ways to monetize Windows 10:

KEVIN TURNER [Microsoft CFO] : ...The thing about [Windows 10] is, though, we've got to monetize it differently. And there are services involved. There are additional opportunities for us to bring additional services to the product and do it in a creative way. And through the course of the summer and spring we'll be announcing what that business model looks like. At the same time it's wonderful to see these nine-inch and below devices explode, because that was an area, candidly, I was blocked out and I had no share of what was getting built. So it's a very fascinating transition for us.

And finding new ways to monetize the lifetime of that customer on those devices, again, I would tell you we're learning, we're growing, and we're smarter and wiser every day. And we still have some more learning and growing to do in that space. But, stay tuned. The business model stuff will be out in the early ‑‑ probably the early part of 2015.

Possibly a subscription based license for enterprise users which would be a welcome addition, but they may push it to consumer markets.

The presentation has more information if you are interested in the business side of Microsoft.

Nvidia hosts their previous driver versions on their site.

You'll never let that Broken Age OST thing go, will you? :p

I probably would have let bygones be bygones by now if DF hadn't said it was "looking into a solution" only to completely ignore the matter in hope that people would forget.

I was missing a cookie before too, so I just cleared cookies from the browser and logged into steam community again to get all the cookies back.

I like this.

Settings -> Downloads -> Allow Downloads during gameplay

Has been there for a while. :D You can even select exceptions to the rule in a game's properties (I don't want Steam to start downloading when I'm playing Dota 2).

On Steam?

I feel like the proper order here is check the settings first, then complain about it, not the other way around.

My God... I had no idea D:
I have shamed myself V_V

to be fair that should be on by default!

No I want to know if I buy the game from Gamersgate, I can grab the pre-purchase bonus and sell them later, so I can recover some money from the game (I have it on my wishlist, anyway, so soon or later I will take it, 9€ is not a 75% off so if I can spare some money, it would be a nice deal anyway).

Like I said:

If you want a pre-purchase copy you'll have to grab one from Dispenser.

Third-party retailers are no longer selling pre-purchase keys now that the game has released. The situation with Wolf14 is an exceedingly rare exception to the rule.

JaseC!!!! What have you done to me?!

Hack n Slash at 66% off is pretty tempting. But at the rate it is dropping it feels like it will be bundled by January.
