That's just awesome, while I enjoy watching both MOBAs and fighting games, it always surprised me how much more popular MOBAs got compared to fighting games in terms of esports.

No, it's not that. MOBAs makes way more money, have a way bigger audience and have all the big PC sponsorships.

Fighting games are trying to get there, but it won't be fast nor easy.

The thirst will be real at all the CPT events this year. I expect to see more International players to attend US events.

why do you think they make the money have big audiences?

theyre free and the companies that make them dont make their fans buy the same game 4 times with a different name in the front

Would that still be profitable though? Especially with far less characters and other stuff(wards, etc) than MOBA's?
i have no clue

it would be more popular surely

i dont know how well those skin packs they sell do for them

i cant imagine it wouldnt work i mean killer instinct got a second season right and thats nowhere near street fighter

That it's some unprecedented partnership between Sony and Capcom with the exclusives and now this. Now announce MH for Vita for the icing.

and it'll be all the better for spectators. I remember when big names from Asia were flying out seemingly every month for regional 'majors'.

It's smart. It's business.

Think of it as a 500k year long ad. It's social network advertising as well. Top name players with thousands of followers posting positive things about Sony. It's becoming more and more about this and less about traditional advertising.
