Damn, you got a fast boot up time.
2 crashes within 2 minutes of gameplay is obviously what was meant.

Is getting money easy?
Microtransactions are a problem when the game is designed around it. So in this case if I. Money in side quests is hard to get. II. The price of items is ridiculously high.
Is that the case here? Do side missions give you enough money, and are items priced to high it takes forever?
If the answer is yes, then microtransactions are surely a problem. Even IF they re-vamped the system to fix past problems. Not saying it is. I'm only 30% into the game, and tbh haven't been focusing on buying things. So I'm not sure what the side mission for money + the prices really are (especially together).
You just proved his point. You never see what the microtransactions are unless you press hack. Once you know what hack leads to you can ignore it for the rest of the game and just play naturally.
You're speaking as though I didn't experience any issues or notice the differences - I certainly did. After a couple of fumbles early on I got the hang of the new timings and I really, really enjoyed the challenge the game added. Like I said, it's not nearly perfect, and needs significant work. But I think it's on the right track. The harsher timings and more responsive enemies (much more eager to attack in waves and simultaneously), plus additional enemy types make it my favorite game of the series in terms of combat, even despite the short comings.
The story and voice cast are both unexpectedly good, but unfortunately it's a buggy game in general. Reallll buggy. I ran into several major issues, even in the Mr Freeze DLC that came out months later. Those are what kept it from being my unambiguous favorite.
PC PATCH 1.4 OUT
2.9 GB
PC PATCH 1.4 OUT
2.9 GB
First thoughts from people who tested it are :
-The new NVidia driver improved the FPS, the patch did not, performance is exactly the same, still stutters as it did before the patch
-LOD Pop-In issue seems to have been slightly tweaked
-A steam friend said that the fps is even worse
This was the majestic Performance patch ? lol
From the steam discussions :
"Patch 4 fixes nothing......
So once again Ubisoft fails to hold up their end and fix this game...
As an SLI user I'm still experiencing stuttering every couple seconds, but now it appears to be much, much worse.
Instead of a brief pause every 2 seconds with good framerates inbetween, it's a full on FPS drop. The game was unplayable before, now its completely and utterly trashed."
Size: 6.7 GB
The patch that everyone on PC got was 2.9 GB
Three? Meh. I would've believed you at six or seven. It's never been great but in this game it's an exercise in frustration. As soon as you see more than three guards you need to run, but good luck making it, because they'll probably just all start shooting you instead.
It doesn't mention if whether is the installed size or the raw package size
We're talking about Ubisoft, everything is possible.
Also :
Platforms: Steam available 12/18/14 and on Uplay 12/19/14
lol
Is the framerate improvement significant or not? I know there are still moments were the game dips, but are these moments limited compared to pre patch? Does the game run most of the time at 30ish frames per sec?
I want my free game, Ubi.
Downloaded patch off Uplay. Game won't run anymore. Crashes every time at the start up screen.
Come on, Ubisoft...
Is the X1 patch down to good size yet?
Damn I didn't know Ubi wrecked their PC customers this hard. Hmmmm ... if anything I won't be buying the next Creed until I know it is a good product.

The most I've taken on is four five-star guards with relatively good gear. The game forces you to parry better with more difficult enemies because their strikes are rather furious.
Is it really that unfun? I thought most complaints were technical and heard they improved the parkouring stuff
The more than one attack in a row thing isn't new, it's also in ACIV. The issue with Unity is enemies with guns. They simply aren't fun to fight against, and now every enemy in the game has one. It means that you get trapped into combat that you can't win, and if you run away there's a good chance you'll die to bullet wounds. Simply frustrating.
Wasn't this supposed to be that PERFORMANCE DEDICATED patch ?
Tried to get the free game, but it says I'm not eligible even though I'm logged into the account with both the season pass and unity. They can't even do this without somehow messing up.
I'm in the same boat. Says I'm not eligible even though I bought the ACU season pass on the 20th of November.same here. I'm so through with this.
hmm so they fixed performance, but unfortunately the game still looks kinda goofy because of all the popin and crowd models constantly popping different looking clothing/faces etc which really removes any element of realism of the scene, which is a shame because technically its stunning how many people can be visible
as a tech demo its amazing. as a final game, it just doesnt compete with the polish and quality of GTA V or DAI. Which is a shame, because they went for a more ambitious target (HUGE crowds) but they simply couldnt deliver it given the limitation of the hardware (eg streaming or performance reasons for constantly changing NPC models)
It looks worse. the matrix like pop ins and the sudden silent hil like mist or fog in the background is horrible. Screw this game! Back to gamestop you go!
I recorded this yesterday from my XB1 after the patch.
Flags appear and disappear. People appear out of thin air. Hats and clothes also pop out of nowhere.

Imagine all the potential zombies ?. I never bought a piece of dlc for an AC game, but i'd buy some goofy zombie shit, like how they done Blood Dragon for FC3.
I agree mostly. I feel the argument is more about how they made it difficult, not that they made it difficult. You could still slaughter small armies in AC3 and 4 despite them removing the guard button; player movesets were still very overpowered. Making everyone a crack shot, however, is not the smartest way of upping difficulty. The more than one attack in a row thing isn't new, it's also in ACIV. The issue with Unity is enemies with guns. I'm 99.9% sure this kind of thing was happening before this patch as well, and it wasn't any less pronounced. In fact, to me the pop in now seems reduced, and mostly happens at the sides of the screens. In earlier videos I've seen, people used to constantly morph right around you as you walk by them (I'm sure that also still happens, but it doesn't seem to be nearly as much)PS4 version has this as well.
I assume this is how they increased the framerate. By not loading all objects on screen at the same time. On the PS4 version, it is easy to see this is the case by standing in a crowd and panning the camera back and forth. The same characters will pop in and out repeatedly by not moving and panning the camera back and forth. I would rather have this trade off then the low frame rate. I might be one of the few that views it this way.
Yeah - but I was always under the impression that if you read between the lines, this was mainly a PS4 performance patch, because they spent minimal effort on that version before the release - something they'd obviously never want to admit, but was kind of obvious from various clues.Wasn't this supposed to be that PERFORMANCE DEDICATED patch ?

Did the new beta drivers for NVidia cards improve performance on this game? I saw it was made for metal gear so I didn't download yet since I didn't buy GZ.
