Never heard of izumojin. Was he apart of Joo's team? Still imo the best combo create-er ever.
Not sure if there's any connection between izumojin and joo (other than they'd know the same people e.g. magnetro) but izumojin has been making some of the best tool assisted combo videos for cps2 marvel games for a while. Joo's probably the best for mvc2 tho yeah.

Hax, ranked #8 in the world at SSBM, has a hand injury and will be out indefinitely.

Surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often. We've been playing this fucking game for 13 years now, and it's only gotten more and more demanding on your hands. ESPECIALLY for super technical Fox players like Hax. I can't even imagine having to play that character for almost 8+ hours straight on tournament days.

I'm glad he's stopping right now, and I hope his hands recover.

I've had to take a break from playing Marvel 3 because of it.

But yeah, I'm surprised we haven't heard a lot about this from Fox players. The amount of inputs are demanding, and when you play the game for that many years, it's going to take a toll.

Among many other reasons,
such as being ass in general and hardly technical
.
This is why i refused to main fox and more specifically learn whatever claw grip I've seen they use and that shit is hard on the wrist.
I have this thing which I don't know what it is, but certain angles of wrist movement would cause it to pop
they think it's the tendon rolling over the bone awkwardlythey didn't really investigate further since it's unobtrusive *for now*

It's likely going to happen more for people who've been around since the N64 era
because of Mario Party
.

Had a button stick on my Hori pad. Didn't have an eyeglass screwdriver so I used the point on a pair of scissors and got the screws off, took it apart and tested the buttons. Put it back together (minus two pain in the ass screws) and it seems fine now.

I don't playing falco anymore cause of how much my hands would hurt after all the years of playing video games, shine canceling hurts after a while. Its gotten to the point where I just play fighting games once or twice a week so I don't go overboard on my hands.

I'm glad I'm a Marth main (although I use spacies time to time). A lot easier on the hands.

I think I permanently injured my hand through two occasions back in elementary school which damaged my fingers on my right hand. Makes certain things hard on me like Gen/Honda hands and such. Also why playing Zero May Cry tires my hand from all the button holding.

Luckily it didn't affect me too much regarding musical instruments.
Probably somewhere in East Bay along the BART line so I can get around without dumping my savings account on rent. Living downtown has been nuts.

It'll be fine pretty much anywhere else lol

Let me know if you're legitimately interested haha
East Bay? Ack. Well, maybe.

I've been wondering this lately. You think there's going to be any eventual long term affects of playing fighting games as intensely and ridiculously as the pros do or even at our levels?

Fighting games are still relatively new so I mean there really hasn't been a whole lot of time to document players and how long they can keep these levels of shit up. Idk maybe I'm just talkin out my ass.

I can't do hands or play pad; similar reasons.

My wrists have been slightly hurting lately. Mostly nothing major but it's at least once a day. Once at night it was unbearable but it passed. It's scary as shit cause playing games is my livelyhood.

Think of all the poor kids growing up playing on the 3ds. There is no way playing something like kid icarus doesn't cause permanent damage.

You probably want to have a doctor look at that in case of carpal tunnel syndrome, a common problem among gamers.

Might want to get it checked out, depending on your poverty/obamacare status. Trying to power through carpal tunnel just makes it worse, and a couple esports players had to get surgeries because they ignored the initial symptoms.

But that comes from playing on a keyboard right, I don't think if you play on a dual shock or xbox pad the ergonomics would cause carpal tunnel... but I could be wrong.

It's just repeated stress from repeated wrist movement, you can get it from a lot of things

It's just common with computer stuff because computers are common, as far as I understand it.

I got carpal tunnel from playing on dual shock during the DMC3/Tekken 5 PS2 era.

It happens with controllers too although more likely with keyboards.

I once fell on my right hand as a kid - bent my ring finger all the way back to the point it literally touched the back of my hand. Hurt like fuck at the time, but I eventually recovered after having it in a brace for a while. Nowadays every time I make a fist, my hand 'cracks'. Doesn't hurt, but gives people the creeps when I just sit there flexing my hand over and over with it making a super loud 'crack' every time. The injury does, however, cause my hand to get really stiff when I grip a mouse or controller for too long, and in between my ring and middle finger cramps up to the point where it's pretty damn painful to do much with it. It also stops cracking - gotta flex and massage it until it starts cracking again, as it seems like that's when it's 'normal'. Admittedly, I don't get as bad cramps from playing fighting games on a controller compared to just being on the computer or games on the mouse, but after some particularly long sessions, I've had some serious, serious cramps. I haven't had a serious cramp since I got some compression gloves, in addition to doing stretches/massages to my hand, so there's that. Hand/wrist issues definitely gotta be looked at and taken care of, cause they suck when you're playing video games a lot... and I guess with writing papers and stuff...

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up with arthritis young. Yay!

This. It's really not something you want to fuck around with.

I have carpel tunnel pretty bad and my stuff will probably never be the same. Most of it is probably because of fighting games tbh, but I also have pretty widespread hypermobility syndrome which probably made me a lot more prone to repetitive stress issues.

My hands usually cramp up when using a keyboard almost everyday if I type for a prolonged period of time. I need to get my hands checked out so I can tell doctor how my fingers tremble when I point. Will using a fight stick make it easier on my hands for those who have transitioned from pad to stick? It might quicken my purchase of one.

It's scary having my fingers twitch by themselves when my hand starts hurting.

Luckily it hasn't happened in awhile, but still. It's sort of scary.

I don't hesitate to go to pad or just stop playing altogether when it happens.

Playing on stick screws with my hands sooner than on pad. I could probably play all day on a pad, lol but I don't move my wrists as much which may help avoid strain.
