New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition for Europe

I think logging into the EU page may have screwed the system up.

I changed my password to have no capital letters, but now only the old password is being seen as "correct" by that 3DS storefront link (in that it kicks me out instead of saying it's incorrect). This is a bit of a headache to say the least. Hopefully I haven't screwed things up beyond help. If I ever get an email (lol) I can ask support for help if there's an error I guess...still was worth a try.

Link for those from the UK trying to get in without getting kicked to the homepage.

Works for me, but really not sure whether I want to bite on this or not....

Hmm... still no answer to my email. Guess I'll have to wait until next week before I get anything.

Makes me wonder when I'll receive the actual console. Not that I'm in any hurry (quite the opposite).

My new 3DS is still in the packaging! Was way too tired to start setting it up and transferring stuff last night.

Although I'm a registered Club Nintendo member since the Gamecube days and did spend over 1000€ for Nintendo games and hardware in 2014 alone- still no e-mail.

They really fucked this one up.

It wouldn't be that big of a deal, if it was really special. But from this and similar threads on other forums, it seems like everyone and their dog got an e-mail from Nintendo. Enjoy the n3DS, y'all. I will sit in my corner and cry like an unloved child (or a second class customer not worthy the ambassador status, anymore).

Just got a call saying I'd passed an interview and gotten a full time job, went onto my emails and there was my New 3DS email.

Today turned around pretty fast. Good luck to everyone else out there waiting for one. Since they're sending these offers to random people and not people who registered interest there might be quite a few more "waves" of emails due to a high percentage of people who aren't interested.

Let's be honest ... im pissed that i missed yet another wave and full of envy of those who got the mail ... ALTHOUGH i get an ambassador unit too, thanks to my kind buddy, somehow that feeling bugs me.

Anyway, grats for those able to snap one of the units without some backdoor schemes and/or scalping!

Yup, it's officially licensed :)

Got the email this second finally. I'm assuming the takeup must be slower than they anticipated.

Which mail? The "you've been selected" I guess.

I wonder what they'll do with the units from people who were selected but didn't buy the console?

What should I do Gaf? I can order one using the link (having got no email), but they will only ship it to my parent's address in The Netherlands, not my current home address in the UK. And to make matters worse: I just came from there earlier this week and don't plan on going back soon.

Sigh, if only I could have altered the country on the address page! Perhaps I should still buy one and have my parent's ship it to the UK, though that always comes with a risk of damaging it of course. First world dilemma's!

Edit: I just sent them an email explaining my problem. Hopefully they will help me and not block me from ordering it in the first place or force me from using a new UK account while I'm living here.

Just got an email 37 mins ago, but I'm not interested as I don't have enough money. Don't even know if I'll get the new 3DS as I'm scared Nintendo will release a successor in a year or so :p

No email, but the link worked for me, at least I can put the thing in the shopping cart on the website. Does that mean I could buy it, or will an order have no effect?

I am kinda sure I am not interested in this offer though. At least I feel special again.

Edit: Oh, I just got the email.
Edit2: Gave my n3DS offer to another gaffer, have fun.

If you live in the UK, you're supposed to have a UK account, so I doubt they'll help you here.

Just ask for your parents to receive the console, so they can send it to you.

Those that got emails but aren't planning to buy one: why don't you help out a few gaffers here? I'm sure that most of the unlucky posters here wouldn't mind paying a little extra for the hassle, and you get to make someone happy. Everyone wins, right? :)

You are obviously not loyal enough.

Got an email. Bit unsure about getting it though since I really like the comfort of the XL and not sure if the New OG model will be different ergonomics to the launch OG.

Sorry to rub it in but I've also had an Ambassador email and I've never bought a Nintendo product in my life
actually I've bought loads of stuff but not at the same god tier level of purchasing as you!

It's way better than the original 3DS. The slightly larger size and rounded edges make a world of difference.

It´s quite clear they´re not looking at how many games you buy for Nintendo systems.

I´m thinking they mostly look at WHEN you bought your devices, i.e. at launch or close to it vs. later on/after a price drop.

It's completely random.

They aren't looking at anything else besides the fact that you have an account.

Yeah, making new accounts every time I move country (which is every few years due to my partner's work) would be going overboard I feel, but I get your point. A shame Nintendo accounts can't simply travel with you, especially if you keep using a machine from a previous region/country and have purchases on that machine already, but alas.

I'll await their response but will probably go for the option of having it ship to my parents then.
