PS4 slim leaked?

If it's legit, it's really impressively tiny compared to the regular PS4. But the disc tray on the side makes on sense. You'd need a lot of unnecessary space for inserting discs on its side/on the top.

The person behind these shots has been trying to get me to post them on Kotaku for the past week or so. Given that they're clearly fake -- love that "CONFIDENTIAL"! -- that of course wasn't going to happen. I guess he got other sites to bite.

That says it all really, thanks for posting this.

Too small, too soon. This is more like a second revision, and given Sony's track record with slim models I could actually see something this size coming by the end of the generation. But not this year!

I will trade my PS4 in for a white version of this if its real. Without hesitation

$299 slim PS4 Holiday 2015 with No Mans Sky and Uncharted for the main holiday blockbusters?

This. I think the first revision will be just a little bit smaller, offer a 1TB HDD and maybe have an updated DS4. Price tag maybe 349€. Sony has no need for a very low price, thing is selling great at 400€. Second "super slim" revision will be very small because of a shrink.

Confidential docs for most companies have "security level" on them, they don't just say "confidential". I've seen confidential docs from game devs and they never say plainly "confidential"

This fake stuff aside, do you guys think there is actually a chance of Sony announcing/releasing a slim this year?

Was thinking of getting a PS4 this year but would rather wait for a slim model if it's coming soon.

Doubt it. Slim didn't release until 3 years after the original.

Ridiculous if true... The console is already super slim and loud as shit. Plus it's still selling like hotcakes? You never know though, maybe this is planned to come in a few years time. Looks pretty good though, size looks almost wii-level.

Yeah considering that it's already probably smaller than what an XB1 slim would be, and due to noise I can't see a smaller one really being an upgrade... it seems unlikely at least at present.

Plus I can't imagine releasing a slim SKU now would goose their sales.

I liked the also fake Bone Slim better:

Since the PS4 is still quite new (not even 15 months old), still selling at it's original price, still selling very good - would it even make sense from a business standpoint to release a slim version for an assumed lower price this year?

Given their history of revisions they will eventually announce a PS4 Slim, but in the 2nd year of the hardware's lifecycle I just don't see it.
My guess would be E3 2016 at the earliest.

If that was real and around the size of a mac mini I would have bought one.

When I think about it we will never see a slim as small as the pstwo ever again, that thing was made by wizards to get it so tiny.

The ps2 slim was literally a graphics chip attached to a dvd reader. The new consoles have way more going on inside them.

I think this is fake but it's not unlikely that both Microsoft and Sony will introduce revisions of their hardware because of a few important manufacturing advancements, namely 20nm APUs and (for Sony) the availability of 1GB GDDR5 memory chips.
I also expect price cuts because of this.

I would love if in the future they release a $99 version with no optical drive but 2 hdd slots so I can fit all my games on it.

Well there it is...

And this thread has provided some hilarious posts. Thanks the fake leaker for that!

Doubt it's real, but it is pretty. If it were available in white I'd probably buy it just to sit pretty in my media center.

The current ps4 is is the size of the original ps3 slim model. I would assume they will do it by next year to cut costs down and lower the price, but since it's selling really really good I don't think it's ever happening anytime soon. There is nothing wrong with the current ps4 in term of reliability except for the controllers and that's replaceable.
