The Witcher 3 will likely have the best graphics yet (New Screenshots)

Those screens look amazing so far but I wouldn't call it the "best graphics yet". Lighting, textures and LOD look only 'good' compared to other games if you ask me. Still, as long as it's 1080p with a rock solid 30FPS while looking like that on the PS4, I'm satisfied. Can't wait for footages of the PS4 version!

Something is off for me personally. It looks a bit "gamey". I don't know, as if the materials do not look their part and the colours do not fit the art direction or something. I can see the game looks good, but something keeps me from being impressed.

As much as I like the Witcher more, I think Unity in it's full glory looks a lot more impressive, based on these images and some video's I have watched.

Assuming this is running on a powerful PC, I'm really getting worried about the console versions.

I just read a preview of the game played on PS4, and the guy who played it said it looks fantastic, there's almost no loading - right now when you are killed, it takes about a minute to load a save - and most loading is done in the background when some dialogs or a cutscene is on, and there were 3 monitors -TVs right next to each other with all the 3 versions of the game and he said that they almost look identical

Here are part 2 and 3.
Hmm... Those videos look pretty good even for Youtube videos. Do we know what these are running on?

It looks too cartoony

The fable we deserve. But not the witcher we need right now.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
They're related, though. If your CPU affords you more headroom on performance, you can crank the visuals higher.

If you have the GPU to match, sure.

Only thing a PS4 might be able to do better is have slightly better textures. I don't know why you suddenly expect a PS4 to start beating a GTX670 in this game when it hasn't in any game yet.

Keep in mind that The Witcher 3 being a AAA game not tied down to the PS360 baseline means it belongs to an exceedingly small group. You say that the PS4 hasn't beaten a 2GB 670 thus far, but when you consider other open-world games like Watch Dogs and AssCreed Unity, the GPU doesn't exactly have the grunt to adequately offer better graphics. The best case scenario thus far is that it's a wash and I see that getting worse as time goes on.

That all being said, it's all well and good if you feel the 670 still has some spring in its step yet and will be able to hold its own against the PS4 version of The Witcher 3: as I said earlier, we're talking about an unreleased game, so all we can do is speculate.

Edit: Err, sorry, mixed up the order of the PS4 and 670 there. Fixed.

btw. for the german gamers here:

Game got a FSK18 rating (will be released uncut) and both german and english audio will be on the disc.

Part 2 and 3 look fantastic. Hair looks good. Animation improved.

Also Bronn from GoT has advanced quite a bit and now a commander of the Nilfgaard army.

Howard from TBBT, however has become a trader.

The 3 new gameplay vids look stunning. The part where Geralt takes down those airborne enemies, and then dives into the sea, and then those enemies dive in as well to attack, was just amazing.

Can't get enough of these trailers. SoGood.jpg

Looks great, looking forward to buying it after I finish Bloodborne.

If people are disappointed in that then I'm not sure how you get much enjoyment out of life. They were some sassy geese.

The screenshots in the OP aren't impressive at all! Eww

However, the live gameplay I've watched in this thread looks good. I was about to say even the ground textures in GTA V (current gen) look far better. The videos, though, show the game off a million times better.

The Witcher has an "art style" that doesn't necessarily lean in the "real" direction.

Those are running on PC because they have the Nvidia furr tech working.

I want to see PS4 and XBO footage.

Either way, game was severely downgraded. But still looks nice.

Same. Too bad the author didn't write down anything more specific than "no significant differences between the 3". I'm hoping for someone to come out and say "PS4 version looks to be 1080p with no upscaling artifacts".

Good point. The hair and fur looks significantly better in those videos compared to some other screenshots and videos we've seen

Wow, those 3 videos look awesome. Can't wait to play it and that's coming from someone who has never played the previous titles. I just have to clear my backlog first. :)

I'd say it's pretty close to the shots above me, now that I've seen it in motion. Only 3 things are missing. A stronger depth of field, fog, and particle effects.

If GAF made idiocy a bannable offense, we'd lose the majority of people in this thread.

I wish it was bannable.

Seriously, if you compare this to Unity you're nothing short of an idiot. Static lighting is in no way impressive, nor is wonky gameplay, a broken POS of a game and shit performance with awful pop-in. The Witcher 3 looks as good as Unity, and it's unlikely to be as fucking broken. And the worst thing about Unity is how sodding static everything is. So please.

If you compare it to The Order...

Well, are you fucking stupid? A linear corridor shooter that has nothing going for it except for it's looks, and even has an awful screen res? Holy. Shit.

Get your shit together people.

edit: And please for the love of god quit it with the idiotic downgrade comments. Wait for the game to be sodding released before you make that kind of ridiculous, un-factual statement.

It's really not that hard to wait with such a judgement until you have the facts.

Yeah, still screenshots of Unity don't capture the awful pop in, NPCs who randomly change clothes and clip with the world, flickering textures, broken LOD and a ton of other problems.

Jesus Christ. Too early for Meltdown of the year?

This game is a big reason why i am building a new rig. Was gonna settle with a ps4 version, but the game running at 900 res and not 60fps just won't do justice to it.

Love the music.

Still not sure about the gameplay. Even tho it looks a lot better than the previous two installments.

Can't wait to play it.

Is OP joking?, DA:I already looks better than W3 :/
Well, I'm not sure I'd go that far. I'm more disappointed that with every release it's starting to look more and more like DA:I. I liked the gritty look of the early reveals. In late previews it seems like they cranked up the 'digital vibrance' too high or something.

I don't think there's any open world RPG which looks comparable or better than this.

In terms of general open world games, Unity looks better when it looks its best, but it also looks much worse when it doesn't.

Looks awesome Dennis. I'm looking to playing this with all the bells and whistles at 1080P and super smooth 30fps.

On my PS4.
I have some bad news for you :p
