Game Informer March Cover: Rise of the Tomb Raider

Or they could have all of that...

I loved the combat in TR 2013.

Combat was fine, it's just that the number of enemies was too much for *my* taste. If they insist on having so many enemies then perhaps they can provide with stealth options to bypass enemies (not just to do stealth kills).

Don't worry though, it's not like the developers are going to listen to me :p
Are you guys serious...? It's a red coat with frost on it.
They mean the outfit she's wearing in front of the bear. She's got blood on it.

Hopefully this one has a story and memorable characters, other than Lara, I'm at a loss to remember anyone's name or anything that happened in the previous game. The gameplay mechanics were awesome though, and I still 100%'d it on the PC.

I hope so too but Rhianna Pratchett writing again doesn't really fill me with confidence.

More hyped for this than Uncharted, weirdly. Can't wait!

Well, from what I got out of that PSX demo and the Edge cover article, ND is really raising the bar for dynamic action adventure gameplay with Uncharted 4.

I hope this games makes similar strides as I found the last TR rather disappointing.

I guess she gets to upgrade her bow to add a scope to it later in the game? The cutscene isn't at all the same bow she has in the new images.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

I recently completed a 100% run on the definitive edition. So pumped for this. Hopefully they'll take the criticism to heart and deliver on an even better game.

I can't wait for more awesome "hidden" puzzle rooms, I mean TOMBS with such difficulty as "stack boxes to get the treasure" or "climb ladder to slide on rope to treasure".

Will wait for the PC version. I'm all for console exclusives whether it be Halo or Uncharted, but it was pretty shitty to make it a timed exclusive after the first game was on all platforms.

Cautiously optimistic about this game even though I didn't enjoy the first one too much.

I did start to enjoy the style of combat near the very end. Hopefully something similar here along with a focus on exploration is a goal for this game. Looking forward to it.

OP had me excited until the whole secret society thing -- sounds like Lara will still be mowing down hundreds of enemies. Not passing judgement yet, but I really don't want another Gears of Tomb Raider type game.

So timed exclusive? Reading that last sentence..

Anyway, looking good thus far. I really liked the last one.

Too bad this is still Cross Gen.

Love snow settings.

Enough of the vertical limit arms would fall off leaps with ice axes. It's just daft, even for a game.

I loved the first game, but I won't be buying this on last gen hardware, which for me means I won't be playing this game unless they also release a new iteration of the XB1 hardware this year. Please do that, MS. I'm more pumped for this game than Uncharted simply because TR was awesome and UC3 was not. I hate this exclusivity nonsense, but I get why it's happening.

edit: wait, it's only a timed exclusive? Oh bleh. I can wait.

This is one of my most anticipated games of 2015, with Mgs5 and Quantum Break, can't wait to see gameplay of it at E3

Not sure if there are people here reading the comics, but from what I can already gather, we will see a much more mature Lara. Gail Simone and Rhianna Pratchett have been writing some amazing stories. Also looking forward to more puzzle solving.

Also, please, let's not shift focus to the platforms. We already know it is going to released first on Xbox and later on the others. The game is bigger than console wars.

I still don't see tombs on those pictures :D It will be interesting to hear more about TR and especially about that exclusivity.

Dude what the hell. They said the puzzles will be more complex. You'll probably have to stack boxes to even reach the rope in the first place!

So basically we can expect to not want to protect her quite as much this time as she can handle this shit herself now :p

Um, it is also releasing on Xbox One this year. The 360 version will probably be done by someone else as well.

That cover just makes me feel bad for the bear. :(

I like the setting. Really enjoyed the last game, let's hope they improve the obvious flaws this time (I'm not holding my breath).

Looks nice, and even if I thought it was an inferior game to the old series, I still loved TR, but they can still fuck right off after the whole exclusive to the platform with the lowest sales bollocks, timed or no.

I'll pick it up second hand on PS4 eventually, but seriously, it's yet another example of SE giving their customers the finger.

The game is coming at the end of 2015 - why in god's name it's still on X360? What a joke...

I also think that is just ridiculous......if companies want that people buy the new systems they need to stop supporting the old systems...Microsoft and Sony should do something about that.

I'm calling 360 last gen. I own a PS4 and a 360.

Nah I'm pretty sure he's saying he only has last gen consoles and is waiting for a redesigned / slim Xbone before buying one.

Could be wrong on that though

You're right about the slim Xbox portion. I hate the current hardware. I tried numerous times to buy one and the coil whine issue and size always turned me off to the point that I returned them.

So in all seriousness releasing this in holiday 2015 on last gen seems very very foolish. Last gen software sales are in free fall unless your games name is COD.

I realize when they originally made the decision the last gen consoles still looked appealing due to their huge install base but the vast majority of those consumers buying patterns have slowed while saving up for new consoles, or have actually moved on to the new systems.

I'll be honest I expect the last gen version to perform pretty poorly which is a shame because if they had focused on current gen they could have pushed alot more into the game. Either way I still expect it to be fantastic.
