Im really not confident in Sony supporting their peripherals. Only way Id be interested in this is if it gets decent PC support too.

I want this to succeed so badly but part of me is saying this will be 3dtv 2.0 (I still love my 3d TV :()

Thats great but not really relevant. This is about the demos. Besides, with this gen even if Sony didn't support it, indies are in full throttle and indies are the perfect types of games for this kind of stuff.

People won't be laughing at those Move controllers come this time next year.

And VR and 3D are NOT ANYWHERE NEAR the same thing.

I think it's pretty likely that No man's sky will support Morpheus don't you think?
This could be the killer app.

I don't even think Morpheus needs a "killer app." Morpheus itself is the "killer app." Its the killer video game app that so many people have been waiting for since they started playing games. Not everyone is interested in VR, but theres a ton of people who for them, VR is basically the endgame killer app for games.

I never thought of combining the two.....

I think its bound to happen honestly, especially with the simplicity of No Mans Sky. It'd probably be pretty easy to control in VR.

LOL this is not good. It's like the videos at PS4 launch with the eye toy and twitch.

They're not official or finished demoes. They're just quick demos to show the different aspects of how morpheus can work. And the last one shown looks great.

True, but I think it would be very helpful if for example Sony could say "Oh the game you are hyped for so long? You can play it with Morpheus and experience the universe like nowhere else before." It would be an interesting kick-off.
After the info of the last days I'm very hyped for morpheus again.
Good times ahead of us.

Almost guaranteed.

Hello Games was going to do a GDC talk with No Man's Sky in VR but cancelled it, and they have a Morpheus prototype/devkit in house.

Here's an article with some Vine's of them messing around with it: http://vrfocus.com/archives/1906/hello-games-teases-oculus-rift-support-mans-sky/

Sean Murray tweet about cancelling GDC talk about VR with No Man's Sky.

Well... that is pretty much confirmation, man.

If they polish all these tech demos and put them on a disc, you would have you first wii sports like Morpheus game. I loved all of them.

The part where they show how they get the player to keep the controller within the ideal range was really smart and slick.

The video is saying it's only 19 minutes long?

Looks like the vid chopped off whatever demo you are talking about

Yeah just looked and it looks like the vid got shortened with the end bit gone now.

Basically what it was was a really cool demo with the playroom robots. There was like a "dollhouse" set up on the desk in front of you and it was full of the robots doing different activities in the different rooms and when you got closer to look at a particular robot or room they would react to you and do stuff. Like in one room there was a guy watching tv and another guy came downstairs and started fighting with him over a soda he had, then outside the house there was a pool that you could get close to and everyone would wave at you, and a bunch of other different rooms and robots doing different things. Really cool demo.

This was eons ago. This was when Oculus was offering DK1s to developers. They told this story at the GB liveshow during E3 last year.

Oculus sent them a tweet telling them to stop walking around with the headset on.

My point is also they're actively interested in VR and the fact they have a Morpheus devkit and have been on good terms with Sony since Joe Danger through the Pub Fund makes sense that this title could be supporting VR. The trailers they've released from E3 are 60fps on Gamershyde which is the minimum for VR also. Sony's reprojection technology scaling that to 120 fps would be fantastic to see. Sony supporting this title as a console exclusive is big too, I personally think Sony are going to use this game as a "killer app" to advertise VR in the mainstream, at least as one of the titles to do so.
