Cool, sounds exactly like Dark Souls so far. Any word on if they ditched player names showing above invaders/co-op partners? Not a huge deal, but it kind of kills the mood when I'm invaded by 420LAGSTABPRO or whatever. It would make the game feel more seamless instead of being interrupted by internet memes.
What we know about guns is:
-they are mostly used to parry/stagger enemies, not to do damage
-guns scale with the Bloodtinge stat
From some recent nico footage it seems you can drain your blood to make more bullets for your gun.
It might be possible that by heavily investing in Bloodtinge, you could do a lot of damage with your "blood bullets".
Don't know if normal guns can be equipped in the right hand, but the reiterpallasch sword can be used as a sword or a gun.

It's only 3 player coop and health of the bosses usually scales with number of players.

I know the watchword doesnt work for pvp but it would have been nice if we got an item to allow a specific invader you want in your world without blocking out the others, or using that password mechanic for arena pvp (if they game has it)Seems it will be harder to set up specifics for pvp.

Only if you like them / play them / didn't already buy them. Mine are just building up; I think they're almost half my backlog now. I've only played 3 or 4 over the last 18+ months, and only beaten 1. In most cases, I either already own the game, or have little to no interest in it.
Not to knock the service; it would be amazing for someone on a budget who just wants some games to play.
But as for me, I'll probably let my PS+ expire this year.
On topic: damn, Bloodborne looks great. I've been on blackout, just popped in to see how co-op works, and got sucked into the thread.
Never happen if there is a reward for invasions as in DS2.

I might have to pick this game up just because of the drought of games right now. . not a souls fan and this game still looks confusing. I'm not sure if it will be hard just for the sake of being hard.

Going by the Japanese releases of the Souls games, most likely the voice work will be in English, but all the menus will be on Japanese. I own the JP version of Dark Souls and it was like this.

Yea I feel that "big" youtuber who pushed this game heavily for views would advertise it as a game that is just unfair and difficult so that is the view I have of it. Though some people have said that the Souls games are games that you have to play to understand instead of watching (like you can watch most FPS and get the general idea of how the game is)

If the story trailer doesn't hype you, not sure what would. Souls fans are hyped because they know Souls games, and this is basically a Souls game.
Unplug your PS4 from the internet, and no, not likely.

You could play offline, but then again, you will get invaded by npc's. No, you can't pause the game.

In previous Souls games, there is no pause button. If you open the menus in an area with enemies, they'll still come over and kill you while you're equipping new armor.
All souls games have had a way to avoid invasions.. by going offline lol. There is no pause but like the soul games, quitting saves you around the spot you quit at which is the same thing as a pause really. Most people coming into the series don't know that.
Sorry I should have said I know you can't pause, I'm just hoping they add it at some point. I'm also aware of the saving approach, I just want standard pausing.
Offline removes a lot of cool things in previous Souls games. Oh well, can't wait to lose interest the moment I get invaded as I try to get back to PvE as soon as possible.
Play Dark Souls, that's a good trailer for it.

Yep, the disc doesn't get used at all except as an ownership check after the game is installed.

That's what I thought. Someone I talked to mentioned bottlenecking with the disc based versions.

I've not played the Dark Souls games because they look too hard for me and slow but from the multiplayer aspect where a player can invade you, what does that mean essentially? As in could some wanker come into my game, kill me and take my equipment or something? I'm going to give bloodborne a chance because it looks a lot faster than Dark Souls, time to see what the fuss is all about!

They can't take any equipment from you.
If you die by their hands you lose all the currency you're holding, as you would if you die at any other point in the game. But you gain a really large amount if you manage to beat them. But they can invade at really bad times.
It's fun.

The most recent JP Playstation blog post confirmed that there will be a forest area infested with snakes, which adds credence to this old PvP info supposedly from Miyazaki himself. He mentions that one of the strongest beasts is a snake:

You can potentially lose the equivalent of unspent XP/money. They can't take your items are make you lose levels.
I don't think someone guessing there might be a snake in the game makes all those other things true. That rumor set is from a guy on reddit who claims he said he got it from a site that got it from a guy who got it from the original Project Beast leaker's pastebin but said pastebin was "quickly deleted".
The snake info has actually been on the JP site a while and you can even see it (I think) in the trailer I posted a few posts up.
You would think that until you get Blood Suck, the new Soul Suck, wahahahaetc.
