Anyone know if there are plans for a 16:10 version of this monitor?
No information, but I would like to really see one also. But I don't think that there is a large enough market for 16:10 sadly.

Got mine today. The long and short of it: it is incredible. Everything that the reviews have said...it's really a great, great monitor. No quality control issues or dead pixels that I can see. Been using it for about 2 hours.
How's the coating on this panel? Does it make the picture dull? I'm used to plasma TVs and glossy IPS btw.

If only it has 1.2a Displayport...
What for ?
It has g-sync anyway and doesn't need bandwidth of 1.2a.
Got mine last week, this screen is really incredible, the coating is not glossy and not dull, kinda in-between, the image is so soft compared to my other screens, they look grainy.
It has great colors and contrasts.
G-Sync is really great, I can't go back to v-sync now.
Also, going from 1080p to 1440p is something, I did not want to go straight to 4k, but game's image quality is noticeable.
I did some photos trying to show the coating, but cameras can't get it well :
Left, my old dull screen, right, Acer HB270HU
So where did you end up purchasing the monitor from?
LDLC.com (French retailer), they still have some in stock, it was at 719 when I bought it last week.
It's aa still that necessary going to 1440p 27 inch from a 24 inch 1080p monitor? Or is that kind of the same as 1080p with 4x aa?
The reviews here for the Acer XB270HU on Newegg are making me think twice about even considering it.

Apparently a lot of these come with dead pixels and really bad backlight bleeding

Question about the monitor lighting on your left monitor. Does ULMB get rid of that lighting that looks like window blinds?
Not really a fan of how it looks, and for $800, there damn well better be more than just one Displayport on the thing. Good panel or not, if I'm paying that much for a monitor, it better have all the bells and whistles. I guess I'm probably better off just waiting, for now.
The reason it has only display port is because of g-sync.
I think they should have included hdmi tho and just turned off g-sync if that's possible (probably not)

It's DisplayPort only, so not suitable for PS4 without an expensive, active converter. Is this monitor good for PS4 or just for PC gaming?

Is this monitor good for PS4 or just for PC gaming?
The BenQ XL2720Z or XL2420Z is the best option for console AND PC gaming on single monitor. Its got a very good scaler,so 720p content also looks really good.
And its the only monitor which does 60hz strobing.
blurbusters.com has more infor on this, I have been using this baby for a few months and its the best monitor I have used since my old CRT.
That's why I'm waiting to buy it at a retailer with a good return policy. The reviews here for the Acer XB270HU on Newegg are making me think twice about even considering it.

XL2420G has taken that crown now, I believe.

I'll return it until I get a model I'm satisfied with. I seriously couldn't deal with a dead pixel on my main screen
Frys and micro centerAnd what retailers are those, do you reckon?
Someone on Overclock stated that Microcenter put in an order for the monitor. Guessing it'll be the 2nd batch of these. Not sure when it'll hit though. Best to wait for them to get it though if you rather pick the monitor up in person. Will be easier returning it and exchanging it as well if there's any issues. And what retailers are those, do you reckon?
