Finally, about time consoles could download more RAM like PC users.

Eeh, not really, it wasn't because of Cerny. They just listened to devs.

I think I've read some people claiming games launch faster.I'm curious to know if it improves anything on released games.
Anybody with 2 Vita could make some comparison test ?
Yes but that's not what I was pointing out. It's not just "because of Cerny" but because of devs requests and fortunate timing on Samsung chips.Still things could very well been much worse off for the PS4 if a some of these decisions had not been made.
Case in point - http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07...ched-without-hard-drive-and-with-just-4gb-ram

NiceI think I've read some people claiming games launch faster.
And that was before we knew this, as soon as the fw launched so maybe there's some truth to that.Nice
I don't know if this is related, but my Vita seems to run noticeably worse since the update. Specifically there's some lag when scrolling through the live area when I have a game open that wasn't there before.

I'll be very surprised if this has anything to do with Near, because... Near is still there and works in exactly the same way as before.
Near wasn't killed or removed. It's still there. This is a common misconception. Only map/address viewing was removed.
Is that a bigger bump than 3DS to N3DS?

this would be great for a potential FFXII port
Why the hell were they reserving so much RAM for the OS anyway?!
Game streaming was announced before launch, but it didn't came out. Maybe this?
You can stream games to it.
You can stream games to it.
No, he might be referring to the fact that the NicoNico app would've allowed you to stream games from your Vita. It just never came to be.You can stream games to it.
That's not what he's talking about. Nico Nico said they were working on enabling Vita game streaming before launch.
View PS4 streams, yes, but not direct stream your vita game, just like the PS4.
GotchaNo, he might be referring to the fact that the NicoNico app would've allowed you to stream games from your Vita. It just never came to be.
On a side note, do we know if this isn't just a memory improvement for games using the Unity engine, given the nature of the event?
Think larger, ZOE 2 HD.Peace Walker HD.
Do it.
Will Splunkey not stutter in the ice caves now?
That was patched months ago

Vita is a handheld not a console. Finally, about time consoles could download more RAM like PC users.
That just means you download the RAM over WiFi.Vita is a handheld not a console.

The slide in the OP is clearly a SCE presentation (not Unity), that specifically mentions firmware 3.50.
