Which Sony Studios are most likely to show up at E3?

That is still the weirdest development this generation. I hate that SSM is stuck being a GOW factory. I mean I do like GOW, but I wanted to see them branch out.

We won't know the full story until someone from both sides of the table decide to spill, but sometimes things don't work out.

We know Santa Monica is working to on God of War. They even said so on that panel not too long ago. God of War 3 release timing makes me think they want to capitalize on hype for the new game, so they are absolutely going to show if God of War 4.

I'm pretty sure Corey Barlog has said they're not going to be showing at E3 this year. He's only been back at the studio for about 18 months, so it seems unlikely GoWIV will be far enough along to show IMO. Maybe at PSX, but I don't think the game's going to be ready to release before late 2016.

In terms of third party stuff, it's fairly obvious what will be there.

Locks:
Battlefront gameplay reveal
Street Fighter V
Arkham Knight launch trailer (or some sort of new footage)
Destiny's First Comet

Possible:
Persona 5
Tony Hawk Pro Skater
Mad Max
Dead Island 2

I know many want to see P5 there, i'm certainly one of them, but the chances are probably slim. And that's not going to be a lack of trying on Sony's part, it's probably going to have a lot more to do with the fact that Atlus is releasing P4D in Japan a week after E3, and that's going to include new footage. Still, it's possible that they could show something. Heck, i'd be happy with no footage and an exact release date considering how soon after E3 we'll actually be getting new footage.

Bloodborne DLC is all I need, but it might be too early for that.

I expect Ratchet, Until Dawn, Rime, Uncharted, a short GoW announcement trailer, one or two remasters and Horizon.

The rest will be SFV, Destiny expansion etc.

Media Molecule to show Tearaway Unfolded.
Quantic Dream to show their new IP.
Naughty Dog to show U4, announce Uncharted Trilogy

I hope they have Persona 5, there's a big hole for RPG's until all the rumoured ones start dropping, them touting it at E3 and a possible US release late Sept, early October, would be great for that series, really give it the visibility it needs.

Hmm, what more does MM need to show about Tearaway Unfolded? I think the game will only be playable at E3.

I just have a feeling that's what they'll do. Although, I'm hoping for new stuff. I don't think they'll have anything new for a winter release (retail wise). Hoping to be proven wrong though.

Another question is, are we going to see another notable big third party exclusive for Sony?

Before SFV I wouldn't have thought that we'd see any, but that happening has kinda opened the door for quite a lot of possibilities, especially with the focus that Sony is putting on Playstation and with the advantages they have in third party negotiations thanks to their market leader position.

I still think Silent Hills is a possibility but who knows what's going on with that without Kojima...

Btw. I'm excluding things like Persona, Star Ocean, DQH and probably the Level 5 game as well, while I'll most likely enjoy most of those games I'm more looking at potential multimillion seller games.

I'm only about ten hours and two bosses into Bloodborne, but I'd definitely be down for DLC. Especially with From usually delivering excellent quality and value from their DLC.

I'm fully expecting GG's new game to be at E3, it's been in development for a couple of years now and planning started as early as 2011/2012.

I always assumed Guerilla's new IP would come out in the first half of 2016 so I'll be shocked if it isn't heavily featured at their press conference.

With all the dev tweets, new MM IP reveal at E3/Gamescom is set in stone.

I just hope it's E3. So far they had pretty good presence at E3's. LBP has sold quite a good numbers in NA, so I am doubtful they are so EU centric with this game. The game is supposed to reinvent 3D UGC type of game making, and if the product has that wow factor, they are more likely to show it a the bigger conference, which will also in a way contrast all them shooters. Only reason why I think it might miss E3 is because Sony has so much to shows, and they are being pretty reserved lately not wanting to overload their conferences with lots of high profile announcements.

It kind of sucks though.....sure we get announcements all year round but being forced to hold big guns and announcements due to 4 shows for Sony is a bummer.

Sony now has to have announcements for E3, Gamescom, TGS, and PSX.

So if Sony doesn't bring everything they've got like Microsoft can there's going to be a huge omg Microsoft won....no one can beat that!

Sony, you already won Europe....there's little reason to hold back here. Bring everything you got and blow that fucking roof off.

E3 is the equivalent of the "holiday lineup"

I think Sony can take that one week of internet forum stupidity, where everybody screams that MS or Nintendo has destroyed them at E3 and that things are going to change now (I especially remember reading that shit last year about the Wii U after E3)

Though I admit that it's annoying as a forum goer.

Maybe a teaser. HoW will be out for only like three weeks.

Maybe a cinematic teaser or something, or even an announcement of a name/logo with confirmation of PS-exclusive stuff. It's still a retail product out in Autumn, and they're not gonna want to wait 'til Gamescom to get pre-orders going - it's still a big thing for Sony and Acti.

Why do people think that Sony now has CoD marketing? Isnt there still this contract between Activision and Microsoft?

It's rumour at the moment, apparently sourced from a few insiders on the forum. Personally I'm sceptical MS would let that happen but we'll know for definite in a couple of months.

I'm guessing that it won't be ready quite that soon as it's obviously going to be a mammoth game (I think Shinobi said that in terms of landmass it's a similar size to The Witcher 3) and I would assume they're looking at 4-5 years to develop it in full. It's still only just over 1.5 years since Shadow Fall came out and I assume they switched to full development on Horizon after that, so I think we're probably looking at late 2016 at the soonest.

No one from QD ever attended E3 if there wasn't a game to announce or to promote. Im sure they have the marketing plan long laid out including when its supposed to be revealed. Delays probably change plans, but I'm pretty sure that around E3 2014 Sony already knows what they will likely announce the next year. If their game is scheduled for holiday 2016 Sony will definitely announce it at this E3.
Quantic Dream was at least at two E3s in an official capacity (= booth space and press conference slot) when they didn't have a game to announce or promote.

Dark Sorcerer and Kara.

SSM: GoW; the only thing that studio is now good for aside from providing technical assistance to other studios
Sucker Punch: Another inFamous game, hopefully more like FL
GG: Another KZ which may fall further than KZSF. What a downfall for the studio that once made KZ2.
Quantic Dream: BTS Remaster; the age of remasters means more and more and more and more remasters of perfectly fine last gen games

It would be nice if one of their first party studios could actually make a good RPG given all else is pretty either pretty well represented or driven to the ground.

I think Sony will want to make Mm's next game really accessible and really deep. They probably want their own Minecraft equivalent.

I really doubt that Destiny won't be there prominently at the conference. We're talking about a game that probably sold 8+ million copies, and gave the PS4 a massive sales bump for a couple of months. The marketing deal worked wonders for Sony and I've no doubt they'll keep pushing it.

It's just rumour. I can't see MS letting it go. And I can't see Sony picking it up.

I'm sure Sony would jump to pick up the rights to COD marketing (especially given how successful Destiny was for them last year), as it would gain them a huge boost particularly in North America, in the run up to Christmas.

Doesn't mean they can't have a trailer.

Also for your information: GG has multiple teams.

Maybe MS had no say in the matter................

Ugh, I hope not. I don't want any more game announcements with a CGI trailer. If your game is so early in development you need to make a special CGI trailer rather than use game footage, then your game is too early to announce.

Maybe MS had no say in the matter................

Sure, but I think they'd write a pretty large cheque in order to keep Activison and COD on board. The 360 being the de facto console last gen for mutliplayer shooters contributed immensely to its success.

Lost all credibility.
I think there's a good chance we'll see Evolution on stage to talk about whatever new Driveclub content they have coming.

I'm really interested in how much stage time and first party studio Sony will give to Morpheus, especially since it's suppose to launch in less then a year (by the time E3 occurs).

3 years? I'm expecting it to be the big Fall 2016 game with a reveal at PSX.

Yes, the same length of time it took them to develop GoW3 and Ascension and released in the same month that almost every game in the series (Ghost of Sparta is the only outlier and that was mostly to help spur PSP sales) has come out in. March is God of War month, that prediction is as easy as saying Call of Duty will come out in November.

You know what? Why don't we just wait till the 2nd trailer comes out for Black ops 3? If there's a lack of any Xbox branding... then, maybe that could be a clue that they might have it.

Some stage presence for Morpheus seems obvious, although unless they've got some face-melting demos they can show during the presentation, it seems like the kind of tech that would be better served with hands-on time.

I would bet on Guerilla, screens of their game already leaked and they've been working on it for a long time.

That was just concept art rather than screenshots, and I don't think we've ever had a solid confirmation (besides Shinobi) that it was genuinely artwork of Guerrilla's next game. But we're all assuming it really was.
