Great looking game. So many classes and Brands Hatch :) that track is awesome.

Are there are any classic mini's in this game?

Will it have mod support on the PC?

Everytime a person compares Project Cars to Driveclub an angel loses his wings. Seriously. this has to stop. It's just shitting up threads everywhere. It worries me that the general public might have to same beliefs and make a huge confusion about what this game is and isn't.

Project Cars can be compared to: Assetto Corsa; Game Stock Car; Raceroom; iRacing; rFactor

Project Cars cannot be compared to: Mario Kart; Driveclub; Need For Speed, Dirt; Grid; The Crew or any other arcade based game.

They are two completely different things and in other genres people usually don't make this mistake. I've never seen anyone compare Fifa Street to Pro Evolution Soccer or NBA Jam to NBA 2K, but yet in racing games it's like they are all the same.

The only thing that Driveclub and Project Cars have in common is that they both use cars. That's it.

Best post of all time.

helmet cam looks great on the ring.
All dem bumps..

I wish there was a way to enable the same head bobbing without the helmet overlay though,

Also, going by some of those replays (the Renault Clio's and the Evo especially) it looks like suspension and tire models are very detailed and accurate.

But i'm going to be the usual whiny bitch and say that replays STILL don't look as good/convincing as GT's which drives me (slightly) mad.

If I'm not totally wrong or have outdated information, there is a setting that controls the "liveliness" of the camera in the camera modes so yes you should be able to have a slightly similar effect, though not entirely the same (vertical rotation would be very distracting in bumper cam as you would mistake it for the suspension / car lifting off).

You can actually run helmet mode with the helmet outline not showing. Its my preferred option because then you get the ability to have look to apex and the depth of field if you want them (Which I personally love).

Fantastic post. I would go as far as add Gran Turismo and Forza to the "cannot be compared to" list but I understand some people would be upset because they truly believe those games are true simulation racing games.

But I'm glad for your sanity you never saw the posts comparing MLB The Show to OOTP Baseball. Cringe worthy at least.

I'm afraid that didn't stop the comparisons between Driveclub and Forza Horizon 2, infact I recall quite a few reviews directly compared them.

It's inevitable that the comparisons will continue.

Probably already answered, but are there custom liveries for the cars ala Forza? May 8th cannot not come quick enough, just in time for exam season in college :(
My priorities have GOT to change at some point!

Replays in the GT series are just on another level to anything else. The day the first trailer hits for GT7 will be a good day...as long as it doesn't land on the day I do the big shop.

Meh dont get the hype, looks fairly bland to be honest. Could be an ok game but Driveclub is serving my racer itch very nicely. Nothing ive seen here looks remotely as impressive graphics wise. I couldnt give a hoot if its 60fps or not.

I realise this is a sim style racer, maybe thats why it does not appeal to me, I find driving boring and tedious at the best of times so a game looking to emulate it closely and in realistic environments almost sounds tear inducing. Id like to try it though to be proven wrong.

For those that have played it on PC hows the handling? Their last attempt i played (Shift) was ridiculous, magic carpet rides, sliding around every corner, which was spouted as a sim, is this more "authentic"?

Well the very fact that you don't care whether a game like this is 60fps or not says it all. A game like this is clearly lost on you.

Shweet! I'll probably end up buying it on PC due to the fact that I don't have a wheel for the ps4. Only drawback being that I don't have friends to play with on PC :(

This ps4 build looks quite nice given the fact that it's 60fps. Driveclub and PC serve different needs within the racing genre and I'm extremely happy we get to experience both.

Would be using it in cockpit mode anyway.

Helmet can with no helmet overlay is an option !? Woo perfect !
And all dem settings for camera bounciness? Great stuff

Much appreciated! If possible it'd be great to see a couple of laps with accelerated ToD, starting in the daylight and ending full night just to see headlights coming on, how the track furniture, pits, billboards etc get illuminated etc.

Is this build noticable improved from the February version? After the recent DF mix-up I'd be interested to hear your thoughts about any differences you spotted, especially with SMS's claims in mind.

So I've recorded a race starting in the evening and going into the night at Imola in an LMP2 car, looks great.

Yes, every build has improved, from Gamescom, to October preview, to the Jan build, Feb build and now the version we have here.

I'm going to be looking more at graphical fidelity and smoothness, a look at graphics options, controller options and other randomness, including footage with the helmet removed.

Is every interior view looking through the helmet, because in the video it looked like that was the case and I hate that, especially when head movement is added.

You can customise everything to your liking. It's already been said in this thread.

I was thinking Team VVV should send some of their videos to Blim

No, there are several cockpit cameras. In-helmet camera uses many added visual/movement effects.

Nice one. Your videos are boss. Loved the one you did on PS4 and going to check Nurb later.

I'm not a big racing fan. I have the GT's and DriveClub, but that's about as close as I go when I want a "realistic" experience.I highly doubt any of these games are in comparison to what Project Cars will be.

This is what both makes me excited, but also might be the reason why I will just leave it be.

I absolutely love a good challenge, but I never really bothered seeking that challenge in a simulator. It has to be said that this game looks very good.

I'm in a very weird situation when it comes to this game.

This is just making me sad that my Driving Force GT isn't supported on PS4. I'm so close to just building a medium powered PC (or maybe grabbing an Alienware Alpha) to play this with the DFGT.

Could someone explain in a little more depth about these three controller modes that are being touched on in the VVV videos?

Game looks amazing and just convinced me of a purchase. Makes me wish my good ole NegCon worked with it for some reason. Is there any further clarification on the 3 controller modes?

Someone here who would have tried out Project Cars on a controller(PC or PS4 or Xbox One). Would you say the handling, racing and drifting of cars feels more of an evolution of the Shift series that Slightly Mad created or does it feel close to Gran Turismo-ish?

They are three presets that are in the game as starting points but you can customise them as you want. (There is an entire page of controller settings you can play with if your so inclined).

I've never used 1 and like Alan find 2 the best but I think 3 is the default.

To me 3 feels too sensitive around the middle and I find myself getting into tank slappers too much, 2 is smoother for me and allows me more finite control and better counter steer/correction.

Definitely more Forza/GT. Shift had that horrible lag and then input jumps (for want of a better word), there is none of that here.

The one thing I will say though is the cars physics haven't been neutralised like GT/Forza, the super cars are tough to drive fast. You cannot just hold your finger on accelerate and hope for the best, it's a real exercise in precise throttle control.

I really would recommend trying manual gears too if you can just to give you that bit of extra control. I map the gear change to the right stick akin to a sequential shifter and find that works well.

No its a lot more than that. Changes deadzones, input dampening, sensitivity, speed sensitivity and a whole load of other options I can't remember!

Thanks, I'll be sure to have a good look when the game comes!

I assume those individual settings can be tweaked, giving a more granular level of adjustment rather than the 3 settings?
