Thanks - def will.

Is the logitech profiler now called Logitech Gaming Software? I can't seem to find the download for just the logitech profiler. I feel like I tried the gaming software and it installed fine but when I loaded it, it said no devices found so maybe I d/l the wrong thing (should have got profiler)?

I came across this problem last night. The latest versions don't support the G27 (and presumably the G25 and DFP/GT) so you have to download 5.10.

There are different versions for 32 and 64 bit OS.

32-bit install: http://www.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/joystick/lgs510.exe
64-bit install: http://www.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/joystick/lgs510_x64.exe

Yes it's the Logitech Gaming Software. For whatever reason the wheels won't show up in the devices tab. Just go into the global device settings (like is shown above) and you can make the wheel settings changes there.

Thanks. Potential dumb question but that "Options" - "Global Device Settings" seems to be within windows itself and not within the game. Is that correct? If so, how do I navigate to that in windows? I know for sure those properties screenshots are within windows (under control panel, devices, etc) and since they don't look that robust in my current setup, I'm assuming they expand once you install the gaming software?

Downloading now! Anyone know if the DS4 works natively with this or would I still need DS4Windows? The left analog stick on my 360 has a messed up deadzone--stick pulls slightly left, especially noticeable in precision racers like this.

I never done it using the Windows method but there is a drop down tab for the global device settings in the gaming software.

I don't know why I hadn't set up my XB1 controller on PC yet. Loving it with this game and the subtle rumble.

Do those rumble triggers work? Might be interested in the controller if it does.

The more I play of this, the more I like it. Very brutal at first but atleast now that co drivers are working I can anticipate what's coming up a bit better.

Have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by how well Codemasters has done with this release. I haven't played any game in the DIRT series before, but I'll be purchasing this one.

I only had time to play one race, and the effect was subtle. I couldn't tell if it was coming from the triggers or not. But I appreciate the subtlety, at least. I definitely wanna test it more.

I recommend cranking the vibration to max.

Any plans to support the DS4? It works but the triggers aren't recognised as triggers, it makes playing the game a bit harder.

I've heard similar sentiments from 'the games media' and I really don't understand. For a rally sim it looks AMAZING.

I mean the alternative for us up until now was RBR which (with mods) can look... OK, but nothing like these gifs!
It looks fine. Not amazing by today's standards, last-gen engine and all, but perfectly fine.

One thing I've noticed that's been bothering me though is on some tracks (specifically Monte Carlo, Afternoon, Cloudy) you can see the lighting fading in ahead, gradually illuminating what was once in shadow. It's distracting. You're like "huh, that's weird" and then you forget what the next corner was. I don't know if this is supposed to be the sun appearing from the clouds or some such, but it looks weird. Most noticeable at the left 3 at the very end.

Also just noticed I was leading by 29 seconds? How did that happen?

Douchebag. Yes, me.
Thank god for the patch. Now I can actually play decently with the co-driver. And my god is this game good.

Did the patch also tweak the damage model? I've destroyed my car 3 times already, and that never happened pre-patch.

I love GAF - everyone is so damn helpful. Thanks guys. I'll try this out when I get home. I knew something was odd with the wheel. It def provided tension when turning the wheel (as it won't have any pressure if I unplugged the power to the wheel) but I bet you the force feedback isn't really working

No wonder yesterdays drive felt like i was playing Euro Truck, my wheel settings were totally wrong. On those hairpins i swear i had to turn 19897828 degrees to the left or to the right. It felt really weird with the settings at 900.

I´ll try the recommended 270 later on today. Otherwise game is great, i really liked.

Played a bit more with my T300 set to 270, much more playable. But it's definitely missing some detailed steering feedback- feels comparatively dead after playing Assetto Corsa.

Pace notes and co-driver really help btw, lol.

You may need to remove all evidence of the wheel in Device Manager before you start - you're supposed to install the software before plugging in for the first time - it should prompt you during the installation process. Good luck! :)

Yeah, having the co-driver audio and pace notes make a massive help. I just finished my best stage I've done so far with no penalties and only a few mistakes. Was just for 3rd place but to me it's the little victories.

Is anyone going to start a GAF League for this game? If so I'd like to join once one is ever up and running. I will provide a good time for everyone to look at and say "Well, at least I'm not that guy." lol

Official tips for FFB are pretty much useless and a bit worrying.
I thought the FFB in this game is very early and will be replaced by a proper one.
But the official FFB tip kinda implies it's pretty much how it should be already, 270 degrees an all that.
I hope I am wrong! It's early access, fingers crossed.

How early accesses is this game? I tend not to buy games till they are "released" but dang this game looks good

It's almost like a finished product with the "season pass" included in the base price. I'm pretty blown away at how "full" it feels.

I liken it to DriveClub with its monthly content updates. Only DiRT Rally is dedicated to... Rally, is half the price and has no extra fee for the first season of content.

Is it worth playing with a controller?

I'm running with an XONE controller and it's a fantastic experience.

This is early access done right.

Yes. Yes it is.

I'd love to join a GAF league as well!

a lot of you guys seem to have the G27. For those with experience on the DFGT and G27 - I know the 27 is better for sim but for someone like me who won't use the clutch or gear shifting but playing dirt rally standing up (using it on my MAME arcade for old school goodness too), is the DFGT sufficient or should I upgrade? I guess is the Force Feedback and quality that much better with the wheel and pedals alone? Even in a game like Dirt Rally - if I don't intend on shifting, still worth it?

I spent 40 on the DFGT and can get the G27 for 150 used. Good price but still almost 4 times the price of the DFGT.

Are you crashing or falling into ditches? If your car is on a steep hill and is about to be pinned against a tree I've noticed it'll fail you for having an unrecoverable car.

Do you know how DayZ is on early access, it has a lot of content but is broken as fuck and buggy as all hell? Well this is like the opposite. The game itself is absolutely solid, it plays perfectly and looks great, but it's lacking a bit of content right now, mainly in the track department. There's a lot of stuff coming in the future starting from May though.

This is a personal preference, but I wouldn't. FFB works on the DFGT with Dirt Rally, and I will likely be turning the strength down after my practice run this morning. I probally wont shift either (at least not in the near future) and I use the bump shifter as a hand brake.

The windows of the cars on the side of the road of the Monte Carlo rally are very shiny, aren't they?

I'm slowly getting the hang of this now. Came third overall on my last go. Turns out going slow really is faster sometimes.

My gpu is struggling. Gotta run 1366x768 on Low for any shot at 60fps. Game controls like a dream, though. A dream in which I struggle for every second of every turn and love every second of it. There finally seems to be a successor to RBR in both heartache and joy.

I wish it was a bit easier to climb out of a ditch or something instead of having to reset your car. Not much easier, just maybe 15-20% easier.

By release how many cars and tracks are suppose to be available? I don't like doing early access, only one I did was Assetto Corsa and that game got discounts during early access, and to me content feels small.

for justbiglee...

I know this isn't something that would be that high up on the list of things to do but have there been any discussions of adding more co-drivers to the game or at least adding a female option?

Seems like a great DLC possibility. Get guest co-drivers and sell them for a couple of bucks.

GLaDOS the co-driver lol.

As someone who upgraded from a DFP, to a well used G25 to a new G27 I would say stick with what you have for now.

The biggest difference is the feel of the pedals, which are a lot better (but if you're standing up I don't know how much you'd notice), but the wheel itself wasn't that different and the GT is better than the P so I'd say the difference is probably even smaller.

Another reason is that Logitech might have something up their sleeve (or so amar hints) so you could hold off for that.

EDIT: Just tried running it for the first time, Error 41 :(

Just read in their forums that error 41 is a known issue. I'm getting Dirt flashbacks when that game would fail to start. Not cool.

It's the "busy server" error ? I got it with F1 2014 last year, in the Steam folder, then "depotcache" folder, move the file starting with "310560" (it's the Dirt Rally app ID) to another folder (or delete it, but save it just in case).

Then try to install again, should work right away.

Was able to play a couple events last night, bumped my revolution to 540 on my wheel because I was taking corners slow as hell without pace calls. Big fan of what I've played so far, very excited to dig in deeper with the co driver being fixed. Anyone playing with 5.1 sound through a receiver setup? was having some odd fade but was too tired to look into it, sound design is pure class otherwise.
