Ain't excuses, they're reasons. Tenshinhan is like super cool and collected, and then he does something that nearly gets him killed only to do very little. It's kind of like how Krillin being able to kill Nappa with a Kienzan doesn't mean that he can hold his own against Nappa
And this could not even be true because Tenshin did better job against Cell 2nd form and he is human too.

This is an argument that I had in my teens - no. What Tenshinhan did was do an attack that drained his own energy and used it to stun (not hurt) Cell form 2. All Tenshinhan did was hold him off by nearly killing himself. Like I said earlier, that attack is equivalent to Krillin's Kienzan - neither should be used as a measure of either character. Otherwise, Krillin was stronger than Piccolo because he could have killed Nappa if Vegeta wasn't so quick to say something.
