We’ve received word that the Splatoon Global Testfire demo can be downloaded from Nintendo eShop, like, RIGHT NOW! Make sure to get it early to maximize your splatting once the Testfire goes live!

The first session of the Splatoon Global Testfire will take place Friday, May 8th from 8:00-9:00 PM (PDT). At the same time, you can tune into Twitch for a live broadcast of the event. For those without a Nintendo Wii U, this broadcast will be a great way to tune catch all of the hot splatting action. Oh, and Squid Research will be there in full effect!

Saltspray Rig features multiple levels of verticality and a network of tight corridors. The central high ground tends to be a hot spot for battles, but it also has a number of paths that lead to it, so keep an eye on where the action is when choosing your strategy. That said, our research also shows that ignoring the lower areas is a quick way to lose the lead to your opponents!

That’s a good selection of well-rounded weapons right there. That Splattershot Jr. in particular is a good choice for first-timers.

The four weapons you’ll be able to use in the upcoming Testfire event are just the tip of the ink-gun iceberg. The full game will feature a dazzling array of inkredible armaments. The different speeds and strengths of these weapons make for a huge variety of play styles as well. It's mostly little things like Japanese names / puns / references and things that Splatoonus leaves out that make a proper translation interesting. Like the japanese names for the idols that was just mentioned.

We had previously discovered this creature, but now we know it's name - 'Takozonesu'. Similar to the Inklings, she was the ability to fight by transforming between octopus and human forms and is one of the elite soldiers in the Octarian Army. They seem to be strong enemies who can effectively use the shot guns and bomb weapons.

the 'Takozonesu' can also appear in groups.
It's hard to win while fighting off multiple of these ladies at one time.
So you should aim to kill them individually.
Ah, that's not something I learned from Cap'n Cuttlefish - I thought it up by myself.

They deliver news and gossip on active battle maps and updates, that kind of thing. They can also teach you some hot battle tips, but your opponents are watching too, so maybe don't rely too heavily on them.

Yes, please. Not sure about removing the eye-goggles, though, it is kinda part of the Octoling's design. Maybe only their clothes are customizable, should they be playable.
